lm7 swapping my gen 3 z28 camaro
lm7 swapping my gen 3 z28 camaro
So i have bought a roller 3rd gen Camaro. It has a t5 transmission in it and i am looking for advice on what parts i will need to swap an lm7 into it. i know there are many ways to mate the trans and engine together, i am looking for a more cost affective way. that is why i am using a t5 instead of a t56 transmission. i know that i would need a bell housing adapter or a new bellhousing. I don't know what clutch components go with that i also know that with some of the bellhousings the clocking is wrong and the trans mounts don't work. I would like to know if there is a way to mate the two and have all the stock mounting brackets work and what part combinations work with that.
Any information is very appreciated, thank you in advance.
Edit, i did some digging and found a good bellhousing adapter that will fit and keep the stock bell hosing of the t5 and keep the 22.5 degree angle and has the pilot bushing (Lakewood bellhousing adapter pn #15901LKW) its roughly 350$. I then can use a ls1 style 168 tooth flywheel. the stock lm7 starter should work. the only thing i dont know is what clutch and pressure plate would work with this combo.
