94 t-5
94 t-5
Will a 94 t-5 from a camaro v6 work in 3rd gen v8? i looked up numbers on the case its supposed to have a 26 spline input shaft same as v8 . Would the output shaft have a different spline count . I couldn't see gm do that .

no it will not work .unless you update to the 4th gen style clutch & bell housing. After doing all that work you might as well install a T56
question . Why would you have to have a 4th gen clutch , and bellhousing? wouldn't a 3rd gen bellhousing work , with a 3rd gen clutch ? Are you saying a 3rd gen bellhousing wont' bolt up ?

I know on a 96 Camaro 3.8 V6 that the slave cylinder is inside the bellhousing.
Since you are using the 3rd gen bellhousing and clutch, the 94 T5 might work. If it does, let us know. I may put a 4th gen T5 into my car till I can afford a T56. I really don't want to put this 4L60E into my car right now.

Holy crap some of you shouldnt be giving advice, you've probably never even removed a 94 V6 T5, i had one out recently, the bolts that hold it to the bellhousing as well as the bellhousing, seemed pretty much the same as the 3rd gen V6 setups, the 95 + 3.8 may be different, but i'd say you can bolt that 94 T5 right in, provided you use the clutch disc for a 94 3.4, or get one custom made because its going to be about .5" smaller in diameter than the 3rd gen V8 clutch disc.
Im probly not going to buy that trans... but if it bolts up to the v8 bellhousing , which im not sure , then the only reason HITHERE could see it not working is 1 the input shaft is different length , or 2 that the output shaft is different . but HITHERE guess HITHERE would have to see both transmissions side buy side .
