LOL, thanks man. It is pretty friggin' loud. The pipes will have to be worked over in the end. Def gonna cut them at the mufflers, add real mufflers, not bullets and exit out the sides. i still really don't wanna go over the axle. But I also don't want tips showing. I like hiding the pipes. But that will be done either over the winter or later on when the tunning is done and the she gets painted.

I am glad you guys enjoyed the pics. Fron the back really looks X100s better in person. And when it is running.

I am jumping my last major hurdle right now which is my clutch/ fork problem. Stuff might get seriouse or it might be nothing really... gonna take a couple days before I can figure it all out.

Oh and to the guy saying I made a "nice" lam-aro..... how many hours of sleep did you loose coming up with that gem?

redfirebirdman8: I will talk to those guys when the time is right... In a couple weeks I guess. By then maybe I can see Jon's car and decide if that is the kinda work I need done. Thing with my car is that there is some custom stuff, and I want a place that is fully comfortable with doing it. But I also wanna save $, hehe. So i will check all the places in Needham before I decided where to go.

But that is a while away.

Thanks for checking out the site. I will update you all when I get the fork this afternoon and see what I can do with it.

LOL!!! yeah I used to get that and I had a stock 305 TPI, edelbrock TES headers, dual cats, and some random *** flowmaster that had dual tips that were 4". It sounded reaaall nice. I almost tried to re-use the pipes. hehe. But yeah I got bitched at all the time,.... SLOW DOWN!!! hehe. I rolled passed them we had enough time to exchange words 2 or 3 times. hehe. I don't really get what those people don't get. Is it really rocket science that sound doesn't = speed. lol.

getting the new fork today and getting started on the teardown that is involved with tossing the new part in. Gotta remove a whole bunch of stuff. Dunno if this is gonna fix the problem, but it sure is gonna take a while to figure out if it does. At least 2 or 3 days of work, of course all being done after work, hehe.

Hehe, thanks for the compliment, i think.... I will be putting fenders on it as soon as I figure out the clutch sitation I am having.

To be able to stuff those huge 335's I had to do some massaging of the body.

Started out with a nice Moser 12 bolt, stock width, then added 2" billet spacers, then cut my bump stops, then blow tourched the rear metal in there and sledge hamered it for a while. Pretty much just kept going till I had the room.

Oh I am also gonna have the body shop roll the lips back there.

damn! thats alot of work to stick those in! can you tell from inside that anythings been done? how wide a tire can you stuff in there without having to "massage" anything?

From the inside you can't tell a thing. It is all hidden behind the seats and the big rear plastic. There is a lot of room to mess up and stuff back there. With 0 massaging I would not go past 295 MAXXXX.... I am gonna most likely go down to 315s... and shave my spacers, and just have the 315s tuck nicely.

I think it is all worth it and then some... I am obsesed with WIDE rear tires on high HP cars.

Huge update guys. Not only is she up and running.... which you all knew, but this last weekend I acctually got her in gear and drove her around the block... Vibrating like a mother f...er. No weather stripping, not tunned or had timing set, but whatever the damn thing can DRIVE!!!!!!!

Fixed the SPEC stage 3 and the new fork. Clutch feels great. Steering is tough of course with no power and a horrid alligment. But it was great.

Next up is fixing all the loose ends I have about 20 small issues to finish/fix. I will be installing the WIDE BAND O2 sensor and CPU tomorrow. Things are falling into place. Very sick.... Oh and yeah these pipes are just insane. I am considering just getting the mufflex Y pipe and cat back set up. Cost about a grand but if if quiets this thing down then I need it.

time to save up again.

that is sorta how it was. I got my 3" cervini hood, and a couple fenders. I bolted all of that stuff on before I headed out. It was great. white quarters, teal doors, red fenders, and a white hood. It looked quite random, but mad it sounded bad ***.

I had a friend sleep over that night so we could get up early and work on the car, and he is a super heavy sleeper and I was up way before him, I got her running and he said stuff was shaking in my room, hehe and thats what woke him up. LOL!

Either way it was great and in the next month I garontee I am gonna work out all the little issues I have left to take care of. Kinda sux that there is like at least 20 of these "little things" to take care of.... Oh well. I am getting through them all 1 at a time. Most only take a couple hours.....

quick little update.... yesterday I got some 1/4 spacers for the front, now I can finally put my wheels on and not have them scrape. I also got some of those spark plug boots from summit. VERY VERY hard to get onto a 90* boot, but I did it. And I also got new plugs. One heat range hotter than before.....

Lets see I also heat wrapped my fuel lines and nitrous fuel line too. On top of that, I heat wrapped my starter. Pretty close to being done heat wrapping stuff.

Now if I can just get my brakes to not leak at all and get this damn ignition box in, I will be very close to calling up body shops....

yeah they will fit any 305. There is no Y pipe. That is how I bought them. I had dual cats. I am looking to get $130 o.b.o. + shipping.

They are nice need an exhaust shop to help you install them if you do not know how to weld.

which part needs to be welded? I really don't care about the Y pipe coming with it or not. I forgot to ask are they shorty's or long tubes and do they hook up with the stock collector? The price seems to be right for me though.

They are shorties. Does edel. even make long tubes for our cars? I have not seen them if they do. I think they make Big block convertion ones but I am not sure, that was a long time ago that I was looking for them.

They are just some uncosted shorties that have air tubes. They most def do not even come close to bolting to any stock collector. These use dounut gaskets and clamps. You can either have a shop chop off the end and weld on a 3 bolt flange or you can get another dounut end and have that put onto your pipes so that they will bolt on. But they might not be pointed in the right direction. This is why you will need a shop to help you if you do not weld. Hope I explained it all. Lemme know if you need more details.

Denial: thanks for checking it out.... The doors are something people either love or hate. I almost never toss them up, but I guess for the "wow" factor at a show it will be cool.

Later all.

Yeah, I guess that a shop would charge around 500 dollars for a job like that, since I don't know anybody. Sorry, I feel like I wasted your time. If you know anybody or a place that sells bolt on headers to the stock collectors and A.I.R tubes that aren't $400 like the TES edlebrock headers, let me know. By the way your car is amazing. Good job.

no problem man. Just to get an idea I had my headers fitted onto my car and welded up as well as have SFC welded up at the same time, as well as getting my muffler and cat back flange all waleded up... about 8 hours of work for $200. Really isn't that bad at all. But I understand if you are just not interested. I am gonna just toss them up pn ebay.

a lot of guys that were interested in my car used to read this thread so I will post a bit of an update here:

It is at a body shop right now getting the works.

shaved antenna, fuel door, and locks.

painted, door jams and all. Artic white. The lambo hinges are going. So some of you will be happy to hear that. Back to stock hinges for now. I might try to put them back on later down the road.

A smal amount of rust was found at the A-pillar area. So he pulled the windshield and I told him to replace it. So new glass going in too now.

Gas door is welded up and so are the locks, car is a few days away from primer. I would guess at the most 2 more weeks till she will be all done.

Then from there, it is straight to the dyno shop to get a solid tune and a few pulls, also to test out the N20.

After that, a once over to fix the brakes (acting strange). and then a few afternoons of me trying to figure out why the damn dome light wants to stay on all the time.

Then she will be all done and ready to rock first thing in the spring. I hope to be abel to enjoy the car for at least a few days before winter really sets in around here.

Thanks for following my cars build-up. My damn cardomain page has over 21,000 hits!

Awesome to hear. I saw the car a couple weeks ago and i think Chris (the bodyman) was right.. the lambo doors just simply wont work. I think it will be much better with the stockers anyways. Cant wait to see it all done!!

Thanks for checkin' in. That pic in your sig is just great!

Yeah, back to normal doors. Maybe I can bring it to the track now....

I just hope Chris finishes it in time for me to drive it a bit before winter hits.

I think he is almost ready for primer.... My rough estimate is it needs about 1.5 weeks.

If we can get a couple more days like today in a few weeks, thats all I need.

later,

A crap load. And turns out I messed up a bit, so I had to find new doors and go back to stock style for now. I am keeping the hinges in case I feel like trying again down the road.

I would say steer clear of it unless you are willing to spend a couple grand to have a pro shop do it for you, that can also garontee their work.

Thanks for all the compiments guys. It feels great to be done with the paint. It looks amasing. I love the color. Not the paper white I was thinking of before, it os more of a cream, sorta like eggnog mixed with a lot of milk or something. Really nice.

As for stuff left to do:

-C5 brakes
-Dyno tune
-New grill (allready ordered)
-couple emblems
-Door panels
-troubleshoot a couple electrical bugs (no biggie)
-break in the rear and clutch
-decid on the eyes, semigloss back or stay white (gimme you opinion)
-window tint

I think thats it. All this stuff can easily be done before spring. So by then she will be ready for a track day!!

Well thats all for now. Thanks again for all the compliments guys. Means a lot, essecially from the guys who have known me the longest and seen all the ups and downs this thing has gone through.

YOWZA!!!!

Congrats. It looks really nice. You asked about the headlight pockets and I vote Gloss black. I have always loved the way the IROCs and Z's had painted pockets. To me it's like a woman with dark eyeliner/mascara/whatever it's called, it's just sexy!!
