Thanks. So far it has all turned out just how I have wanted (for the most part) Some stuff has come out better than expacted.
My only things I wanna change when more time and $ is available is:
-The 335's swap for 315's
-The used aircleaner swapped for a new one
-Maybe get all my under hood hoses made braided SS.
-Maybe someday get another cut to fit wire set and go under the headers.
But appart from those little things, it all is comin' togeather.

The hinges are GT Factory. Not the easiest thing to do in the world but I am an ameture custom guy and I figured it out in about a weekend.
The paint is going to be very very very low key.
I just want a nice Arctic white. Lots of coats and a good amount of clear. All symbols, locks, antenna, gas door, Z28 emblems, all shaved off.
Only thing I want left is the Z28 and chevy symbol on the rear bumper. Thats it.
I am really going for the Sleeeek, flat, semi-stock look, (with a beast under the hood). Sorta hard to describe, but I am sure you all know what I meen.
ps- I am really pissed the rear under shot didn't come out better. I took at least 20 pics yesterday. I have some better shots. Maybe I can photoshop the pic so that you can see all the goodies there are under the car. It is just too damn dark.

Wheel question
I see your car and it looks great - I love the doors, wow a lot of work went into that! I noticed you have corvette wheels, did you use a 2 inch adaptor? also- are they 16's, 17's or 18's thanks, I am planning on putting a set on my 87 GTA, did you get them on EBAY? thanks

Happy to help.
Here we go:
-did you use a 2 inch adaptor?
Yes I did. I did not get the nice fancy ones cuz at the time I was broke. I got some aluminum ones off ebay. They are 2" at all 4 corners. Then seem to center themselves just fine. Just have to be careful when installing.
-are they 16's, 17's or 18's thanks
They are good old 17's. The fronts are 9.5" wide and the rears are 11" w-i-d-e. lol.
-Did I get them from EBAY...
Hell yeah I did. If I hit a curb or something I am not gonna start crying. I got all 4 rims SHIPPED for $510. Can't beat that. And they are DOT approved and all that junk. hehe.

The car really looks like it is coming along well. Can't wait to see that thing in paint. The only thing that I really not sure I like is the 11" w-i-d-e wheels in the rear. It appears from the pics that they hang out at least a good inch from the fender lips. I love the style of wheels, and color, I used to have a set, but they can't hang out. Post more pics if they don't, and it is just my eyes messing with me.

66, A buddy is comin over in the next few days and we are gonna get it all dialed in with timing and such to get here running.
As for the rims sticking out, they do. I don't like it either. I am gonna be swapping in 315s when I get the chance. As for now I am gonna wear out these used 335s. Also I am gonna work on getting more room under there and machine down the 2" spacer till they tuck. Don't worry, the tires will not stick out like that forever. It is just a temporary "build in progress" issue.
Also the rear is a bit off center. One side is out past the lip about 1 cm only. The other is out something like 3 maybe 4. It will tuck eventtually. I am not worried one bit.
Thanks for following my progress guys. I can't wait to see it in paint as well.
Cervini hood should be here this week too

I will try to get around to updating in the next day or two. I took a bunch of pics that I really want people to see with regards to the doors and how hard it is to get out without them going up. So far it seems like it will be almost like stock. (I never really swung the doors open too far). I got my mom to take a pic of me getting out. lol! Anyways, I will DEFINETLY post sound, once I get her goin. That is of course, if I manage to find a way to record sound that I can post on here..... hmmm....
All I have now is a clip of it on my cell. Wish my PSP or my Ipod could record sound. DAMN.

man, after reading through your entire car domain, i say SWEET!!!
alot of the stuff you did is what i want to do when i finnaly find a nice project. the ONLY thing on the entire car i would change is the doors, but they arent for everyone.
cant wait to see it finished, i think the white will look real good.

not really third gen related, but did all C4's have 11 inch wide wheels or did just the ZR1's?
what panhard rod do you have?
what engine and transmission mounts did you use?

Thanks for all the replies guys. Seems that the only borderline thing is the doors. I too sorta didn't know if I wanted them, but at the time I was in the mood to do something that no one else had really done. Esspecially not around where I live. Not to mention I am putting 99.99% of the $ in the power and handling department, I figured one visual stiking mod would be fun. In the end all it will really have is rims and a hood (from the outside). And new paint it you wanna count that, hehe.
Anyways, let me see if I can answer all your questions.
rwdtech:
As far as I know the noraml C4 had 10 or 10.5" rims and only the ZR1's had 11".
I have a hotchkis panhard rod. I got WAY WAY WAY back in the day, like 5 years ago before I ever knew what sphoon was. hehe.
Engine and tranny mounts are both energy suspentions poly mounts. Nothing super special. I did manage to find some powder coated motor mounts on these boards, so they do look pretty nice.
MikeH:
I used POR-15. I studued all their products and eneded up getting 1 gallon of semi-glass black. and the zinc-phosphate primer. That is all you need. Wash the car well with soap and water (or whatever you wanna coat) then spray the primer(use a mask or rag to cover your mouth). wait 15 minutes, or till dry. Apply POR-15 and 10 min later you have a very well sealed coating. I did 2 layers under the car, 3 in the wheel wells, and 1 inside the car. (floorboards). I still missed a couple spots, but you can allways go back and touch-up. GREAT STUFF.
I think that is it. If you have any other questions I will be happy to answer. On a side not I will be updating my site will all the pics I took on that day. Some are much better than those. Hope you guys check back tonight or tomorrow.

OMG!!!! It's a Camaro!
I had no idea. I allways thought it was a Lambo. Man is my face red....
Why would I ever mod a car... I better sell it and go get a Accord ASAP.
TGO people might not like the doors, but everyone on the street will be creaming their pants when they see those doors.
91-92's have a more modern look to them, i think the lambo doors are fine

Like I have said before. I just sorta did it cuz a lot of people said it could't be done. And so on.... I sorta wanted to prove it could be. (people kept saying the doors are too heavy). I was also 19, I think, when I bought the hinges.... I am about to be 23 in Dec. What I thought was "cool" has changed a bit.
I would not do it again today, but I am not sad in any way that I did it back then.
Also never hurts to be a little different, esspecially since I don't need to open them upward unless I want to. I can get out just fine with then staying all the way down.

Keep your eyes open. Back when I got mine there were litterally dozens and dozens of set of bullet style, ZO6, ZR1, IROC and so on style rims at price or very very close. I got mine for 375 or 400 before shipping. It was 510 to my door from FL and I live in MA.
EBAY is the way to go for a lot of stuff. Just have to wait for the right time. If you want I might be able to find you the seller in my old EBAY back files. Lemme know if you want it roadking.

idk what yall are talking about....those lambo doors are bad ***, but i also herd that there was no way you could do it with a stock door becasue there so heavy and long. some guy on here told me i needed fiberglass doors, so i got to looking and came across a website called Glasstek and found fiberglass 3rd gen camaro doors $600 for both driver and passenger sides. but the only thing is that if i get in a wreck then ill be in alot of troubble unless i have a roll cage, but i think ill be more pissed becasue i wrecked my baby. I also herd that you haveto cut away at the top corner of the fender so the door will clear. and one last question....is that a universal hinge kit and can i get it motorized???

HOLLY ****.................YOU GUYS, I FINALLY GOT HER FIRED UP YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....
GOOD god this thing is a beast! I have a couple issues, very small but all is well. I am calling my engine builder and letting him know that the motor is great. Good pressure and everything. The damn dual 3" pipes are sooo deep and loud it is insane. I had all the neighbors out of their houses wondering what the hell all the noise was. They were all cool about it though. They all know I have been building the car for 3 years and waiting for me to finish. Granted I am not done, but damn, I am a lot closer. Everything seems to be the right size. The guy that helped me get it to run has a 1000+HP Chevelle, (supercharged BBC). Even he said, WOW, that cam is huge! Hehe. What could I say, it is nuts. There is a good amount of overlap, so idle is a joke. Bust up high it is gonna SCREAM. Anyways, I slept for 2 hrs last night, I couldn't get over it. OK, OK, OK.... back down to earth.....
87CIZ:
I can get you all the measurments you want about those doors. No problem. I have a ton of pics of me getting out and so on. They will help you see what you want about those hinges.
ChevyRS-305:
Lets see.... First of all, there is absolutly no need for fiberglass doors. I herd that too, a lot and refused to believe. haha.
This is a universal kit. and YES you can get it motorised.
It is from GT Factory, they have a pretty nice website. Google it. I have pics of all the customising I had to do to get them in there, on my website. Check out those pics, if you still have questions, then feel free to ask.

What is a good way to record the sound. All I have is my cell phone... And that just sounds like static. I don't have any good recording device. I guess I can ask friends as stuff to see if they have a video camera. get some sound and video too.

I am at work so I can not see the clip. I will check it out tonight. I do have a friend who might have access to a nice video camera. I will ask him tonight. Might have clip up by tonight if I am lucky.
by the way timing and final tunning will be done in the next couple weeks. Just as a reminder if I do get the video up tonight.

i too have been following your car. great stuff you've done. like you said, the only thing that needs to be changed is the air cleaner. a nice chrome, or billet would do wonders for appearance. other than that, i love it. good job.

i just came back from dennis' house and that camaro is awesome! the motor sounded bad ***, i think even if he did a sound clip it wouldent do it justice. the custom interior is also awesome, and his little "bleach resivoir" was cool too. dennis we defnintly have to cruise sometime!

Lazer you know where I live and I am pretty sure you have my cell. Lemme know when you wanna swing by. I will be woking on the car everyday after 5 pretty much. I am waiting till after it has its final tunning and what not to acctually PM all the guys on the old Camaro Club list.
By the way, yesterday I tried to push the clutch in all the way.... it was almost impossible, so I tried more and more and bam! I bent the damn plunger behind the clutch pedal. I am gonna order a new one today, but still it is a pain in the ***, cuz I have no idea why it didn't wanna work. I guess I might have installed the clutch fork wrong or somehthing....

Yeah, the booster and master cylinder is gonna flex like that. It it all bolted up just like it was stock. I guess there is a chance that I needed to bleed the sytem more or something. The fork might have slipped off the TOB too, but who knows. I will take a look at it today. I have to take a few things apart anyways. A mini tear down of some things before it all gets bolted up for good.
My caster/camber plates need to come off for some updating, and of course the clutch hydros.... should be solved by next week. I am also getting a wideband O2 off ebay, for a solid 300 and a few other things like heat wrap and such from summit. The last few odds and ends before the final tune and eventually paint,

ok well I updated my site with another 2 pages. Nothing tremendously new, just a lot of nice pics if you wanna see where the project stands as of now.
Stuck trying to figure out this T-56 clutch fork problem.
After than, the final tune and off to the paint booth, I have to do a lot more hardcore store to store paintjob research. But that is no biggie.
