I went to advance auto. Probably my first mistake lol. I asked the guy there for some silicone grease for my weather stripping. My 92 RS was garaged, but the stripping seems really dry and I didn't want it to crack. So he sold me a tiny tube of dielectric grease. It did both doors but I don't think that's what I should have used. I'm worried dirt will stick to it. Is there really any benefit to what I've done or have I just made a mess? How do I take care of the old weather stripping without spending the money for new?

I've always heard good things about vasaline. Just use it basically like wax.

 

I had a really bad experience using vasoline last winter on my crown vic. My doors wouldn't open the next morning. Obviously the petrolium based vasoline didn't freeze. But it must have held in moisture or something. Plus it was kinda messy, rubbed off on my clothes, collected dirt. Didn't like it.
