Re: my 1986 iroc 48k
the wheels appear to be correct for the year...the tails are wrong, the IROC's only got the grid lights...but you're missing the third brake light. 86 got them as kind of a last minute add on, since the law was passed in late 85 that all 86 model cars had to have a third brake light. it's supposed to sit on top of the back hatch glass.

hmmm...that's interesting, you must have a very early 86 model.
regardless, the wheels are period correct for 85-87.

First............WELCOME to the board and congrats on joining the "community". Very nice clean IROC.
Apart from the lights she look original. Kepp the colour as you don't see too many yellow Camaros any more.

Nice looking car! What color is the interior? It's hard to tell in the pics, but it looks like the emblems are gold too. If so, I would say the wheels are the original color too and that someone put the silver decals on it. The IROC door decals seem to be a little closer to the stripes than where the factory put them.
Re: my 1986 iroc 48k
the interior is black, it has been repainted so its possible that they are not in the right place, but it is an original yellow
----------
also the emblems are gold and the stickers silver, nice eye didnt catch that

Welcome to TGO. You've got a very nice car there. As for the speedo, your 85 MPH guage is most likely correct for your car. After doing some research, I found that late model 1986 Irocs/ Z28s with a TPI engine got a 145 MPH speedos. It is not known when the switch was made however. All 350s and a mixture of TPI 305s came with them from 1987-1992. Nothing lower in rating than the LB9 got a 145 speedo.
Keep it up man. And you gotta post more pics on the interior and engine. We don't come across too many yellow Iroc's on TGO.

Re: my 1986 iroc 48k
Could it have been hit in the rear and repainted? Had to swap out the tail lights and hatch? I'm pretty sure ALL 86's got the rear mounted brakelight. Also your IROC door decals are not in the stock locations. They are too low. *shrug*
Still a good car for your first ride! Good luck with it!

Re: my 1986 iroc 48k
If you planning on swapping to a 350 you should think about saving and for a 383. I swapped to a 355 from a 305 and I honestly am already bored with it. BTW car looks very clean and straight!

Great looking car man. A agree we need more pics of the interior and engine. May be a possibility that they did repalce the hatch to get rid of the brake light. I wouldn't think so on a low mileage car like that, but I know I would if I came across a 86 IMO. Not a big fan of the light stuck on there.
