i LOVE where you're going with this. it's given me tons of ideas for mine. just so everybody knows, if you find a set of projectors you like, making your own halo's isn't too hard (read: doesn't LOOK too hard). here's a pretty good "how to"

this is one of the better instructionals i found on it from back in my days of sin when i had my civic hb. i like how this guy intentionally doesn't make a full loop ..... sorry to hijack.

Re: 1 piece headlight mod.

Where you at in Michigan are you? I'm in Charlotte just south of Lansing. I want to do this headlight conversion on my 86 sport coupe. How hard was it to wire up? I found these at a very good price. http://store.me2motorsports.com/88chcksepi15.html
Did you have to remove your front bumper to do this swap?

Like the look of the one piece lights and those DL covers too. I have been thinking of combining the pickup/suburban lights with the bmw lights for a similar look without all of the heavy fab of a bmw only conversion.

Re: 1 piece headlight mod.

The 96-98 C/K lights just don't fit the opening well enough - While its unique and looks interesting, the simple fact that there is a gap on either side of the light (between the light and the bumper cover) looks a tad tacky to me.

Everyone always said Fatal88's lights were C/K lights, but I'd swear they were like 1990 Caprice style lights. The Caprice lights looked almost identical but they were slightly larger. Fatal88's lights DID NOT have any gap on either side, like the 96-98 C/K lights did... and unless Fatal88 himself tells me that they were C/Ks, I refuse to believe it; there is too much pictorial evidence that backs up my theory.

Its too bad that I don't think anyone is reproducing the old Caprice lights with projectors or halos these days...

The C/K lights, as with the E36 BMW lights... Looks OK, but they are still not quite right to fix perfectly in the 3rdgen. Don't confuse what I'm saying; they look OK, just not a perfect match/fit.

Re: 1 piece headlight mod.

I am starting to think that I should build some full on custom halo/projector lights for third gen camaros. I could probably retire from just the sales off of this group lol.

Re: 1 piece headlight mod.

Your right there is a decent gap on both sides of the lights and i actually didnt think i liked them at first and was kinda disappointed in them. I was very close to putting the stock lights back on but i thought i would see if they grow on me, and they did lol. Its hard finding a set of one piece lights that will fit in and not require so much cutting and fab work. I liked these lights because i only had to drill 3 holes in the header panel to get them to mount (was going to be temporary but turned out to be solid). It dosent look that great up close by i love them from far away. plus having hids is nice since these lights use 9006 bulbs

Re: 1 piece headlight mod.

I just looked through another thread, where I'd posted I thought it was a 1990 Caprice headlight that Fatal88 had.

As it turns out, he used a mid-late 80's Monte Carlo Luxury Sport headlight, as pictured here:

If memory serves, they are in fact the same as the 1990 Caprice headlights.

These are _NOT_ the same as the C/K headlights; The C/K lights are indeed smaller.

Here's a circa 1999ish pic of Fatal88's car:

Notice there is no gap on the sides of the headlights - Again, thats because its NOT a C/K headlight. Its too bad that there aren't any new styles of the Monte/Caprice headlight being made. Otherwise those would be THE headlight to swap!

The headlights look good too!!!
It looks kinda mean. Reminds me of the vette in the old Charlie Sheen movie "The Wraith" w/ the primer and all.

i wonder how it would look if the lights were brought to the edge of the hood?the bad thing about doing this is you're trading in glass headlights for plastic ones that will have to be polished each year.
