Running lights or not ?
Running lights or not?
IMHO I think that installing running lights in your car makes a huge cosmetic /appearance change to the front of your car. I understand the lights are there for added safety/ etc .Thats why I'm considering them. What I'm asking is your opinion .Do you like them or not? If you all ready have them would you consider posting photos of your front end so I / we can have a comparison. Personally I think they look OK. I'm sure there are plenty of other members contemplating this change . I understand if you already have them its obvious as to your opinion. But this is why I'm asking for photos. I have built my car from the ground up to its present condition with the help of this site. I have used this site to help me decide on some cosmetic changes . I love my car exactly the way it is except three more exterior cosmetic issues and the car is done . (By the way I have ordered the new turn signals .)

No..don't do it, this way you get more air flow to the rad and it looks meaner since you have a customized car...I say keep 'em off!

I think you should specify your definition of running lights. I consider running lights to be the parking lights/turn signals/DRL's, but if I'm interpreting Sinister Z's comment reply correctly, he's thinking of them as fog lights.

Re: Running lights or not ?

I see parking/marker/tail lights as running lights & the 2 "big white ones" in the middle as Fog Lights. After all, that is what they are called by the factory.....Fog Lights.
As for running lights on, I just flip my parking light switch on, whenever I drive. Since my Fog Lights are controlled by the Parking Light switch, they come on/go off, with my Parking Light switch. I've been too lazy to rewire the switch so that they come one automatically with the key turned, to "fully finction" as running lights. Maybe this year is the year I do that!

If you are referring to headlights that half-voltage light up with the key turned.....I dunno. Maybe its just me, but headlights lit with no parking lights on, just looks odd to me.

Re: Running lights or not ?
i'd leave them off
However i think some new park lights would do your car good IMO. i think the clear ones look better on mine than the old foggy ones

Re: Running lights or not ?
Here's a crazy idea if you don't want to have fog lights in the stock location. If you want to be a little bit creative, you maybe can still have fog lights. The new Dodge Challenger uses its inner lights for blinkers, not headlights. Maybe the same could be done for a Camaro. Then just have Hi/Lo H4 bulbs in the outer headlights and figure out a way to install fog light bulbs in the front turn signals.

Re: Running lights or not ?
Sorry guys but I thought that running lights and fog lights went in the same place except you had a choice of ether "Yellow" for fog or "white" for day or night driving without fog. When I see "white" lamps were "yellow" fog light should be I think of lights that aid your low beams at night . ( no fog ). That way you have some extra light without using your high beams . ( As not to blind on coming traffic. )Thanks for all your input on this subject.
