Thanks.which side would I apply the fiberglass to? The underside or the topside? Or does it not matter? I would assume that it doesn't matter.

And what is AM headliners? I did a quick search on here about it but I found nothing. I'll do a quick google search now, but what didn't work too well?

Re: First car: 1992 Camaro RS Heritage Edition
Yes I'd put the glass on both sides. 1 inch wide paint brush usually works good to apply but throw it away when you're done. Some mat behind where it's broken completely will help too.
AM=aftermarket, non OEM (original equipment). Can't remember exactly what the problem was but it was fit problem. Pretty sure I read about it on this forum.

Thanks, I'll see if I can fix it sometime soon, and if not maybe I can get the headliner out of that firebird I saw. It looks like it was just replaced before it was put in the yard!

Re: First car: 1992 Camaro RS Heritage Edition
It doesn´t really matter on which side you apply the fiberglass, but to get the shape rigt (first cover the roof of the car with something through which the resin can not seep through) apply glass to the top side of the headliner, and let it dry on top of the roof of the car.
Work at a teperature of 60°F or higher to prevent issues while waiting for the epoxy to dry.
I guess I´ll start fixing my headliner in 2 weeks.

Re: First car: 1992 Camaro RS Heritage Edition
I'll have to give that a try when I do get to it.
I just finished replacing the fan switch (PITA). For some reason I'm getting a Check engine light now. It might be because I was driving in 3rd gear the whole time?(Cable is messed up on my B&M shifter.) I have to shift to 3rd then to overdrive in order for it to work. I just figured out that a little while ago, but before that I was driving around in 3rd. Would that cause a check engine light?

How many wires should be going to the fan switch? 1 or 2?

Re: First car: 1992 Camaro RS Heritage Edition
305 TBI with a single fan, right?
I thought these had ECM controlled fans rather then a seperate fan control switch
Could you post a picture of the switch you have installed, and where it is installed?
The Chilton Repair manual only shows one lead going to the fan control switch. The intended fan control switch is located near the A/C head unit.

Re: First car: 1992 Camaro RS Heritage Edition
I installed the SW500 fan switch from autozone in the head of the engine on the passenger side between the 6&8? spark plugs.
Now I have other problems. The ebrake and parking brakes don't work! Are they the same thing? I put the car into what I think is park and it still rolls if I even push it. I pulled the e-brake yesterday and it doesn't work either. I think that either the shift cable won't push the shift linkage all the way into park, but I'm not sure.
Another problem is that I have to shift to drive then to overdrive. I can't shift directly to overdrive, it doesn't do anything.
I just installed the stock shifter and cable, so does that have anything to do with any of this? I was going to get it inspected, but now I can't because of these problems.
I need help!

Re: First car: 1992 Camaro RS Heritage Edition
The P (park state for transmission, I presume it's an automatic, right?) issue should be related to your overdrive isue, should be related to your TV cable.
You can find some good instructions on how to set up the TV cable by searching (sorry, don't have the exact location of the thread atm) on here.
It's not related to your park/E-brake however.
The park/E-brake in these cars is cable operated. Issue can be caused by a stuck or broken cable (corrosion) or by worn down rear brakes.
Can you jack the rear of the car up and have someone apply the brakes normally? Do the rear wheels still roll when applying the brake?
EDIT:: it's interesting to see how your car appears to be carboncopy my car. I just ordered a complete new set of rear brakes for mine. Since you're in the US and might save considerably on purchase of certain items, if the brakes are gone and need to be replaced, consider upgradingto the 4th gen rear with discs and cable operated E-brake. Again, this site has great instructions on how to fit the parts.
I would have to pay over $700 for the brakes alone and likely another $500 for the 4th gen rear end over here which is why I decided to just repace the stock drum brakes for now.

That is a VT cable? I haven't checked the rear breaks really, but I know the hydraulic brakes work.

Where is the TV cable attached to the transmission? Is it attached on the opposite side of the shift cable?

Re: First car: 1992 Camaro RS Heritage Edition
TV cable adjustment is found near the Throttlebody.
The calbe connects to the valve adjustment lever on the TBI unit, there is a cable adjuster near this, and a cable going to your transmission. Should come out near the valve body (tranny oil pan area
)
The procedure to adjust the TV cable is in the link I posted. I can´t give a better explanation of it with less words, so I´d advise to read it carefully. The TV cable basically tells your transmision what your throttle is doing, and most transmission operations are guided by it.
If the trans worked before, but doesn´t do so now, I would advise checking this first since an incorrect setup for the TV cable can cause damage to your transmission.

My uncle is going to come over and help me fix the parking break and the problems with the transmission as soon as it gives us a decent break in the snow! It's been snowing here every week!

Re: First car: 1992 Camaro RS Heritage Edition
I think that might indeed be a good idea.
I just had another look at the transmission and there are 3 things to check really, and best in this order.
1) when changing the shift linkage, you adjust the shift cable first. Set the transmission to neutral for this. Do not adjust shift cable with the transmission in P
2) TV cable. If no changes were made, only verify it's set right
3) park cable. That's the 2nd cable on the transmission linkage and might be another reason as to why your car does not apply it's park brake properly.

Re: First car: 1992 Camaro RS Heritage Edition
UPDATE:
The parking/Emergency brake randomly works now. No idea how. And as far as the rolling in park problem, I may have been wrong about that. How much should you be able to push the car, or rock it by hand while it's in park. Now, that I think of it the wheels never actually rolled.
I'm waiting for a shift linkage lever which should solve any problems with that. When I install that, I'll adjust the TV cable and see if that fixed the Overdrive problem. When these few things are fixed, I'll be beyond happy. Even though it's only the beginning!

It sucks because I don't even have a garage to work in. I have to drive a half hour to work on the car because it's at my uncles house. I just hope he shoveled the snow away from the car.
But yes, I plan on doing tons of research on top of the research i've already done on here and other websites.

Re: First car: 1992 Camaro RS Heritage Edition
A garage is definately better for these cars during winter season.
I see you have a 3" filter with something similar to the K&N xtreme lid in there. Drop base or does it fit with a straight base as well?
I can´t say I quite agree on the hood blisters. I kind of really like the heritage stripes, and due to the car being a heritage edition I would attempt to keep the exterior stock. But that´s just my 2 cts.
Just something small I noticed, what happened to the 3rd brake light? It´s not in the spoiler, where I would´ve expected it to be, or am I mixing up model years again?

It's a drop base air cleaner, but if you remove the spacer I believe it works with a straight base as well.
I don't plan on putting on anything that's not stock on this car. I'll keep the blisters with the Z28.
And yes, your mixing up years again lol. The third break light is on the inside of the upper hatch glass.

Congrats on legality
That definately makes it easier to pick up parts and get work done on the car, even though, according to weather forecasts driving appears to be somewhat difficult over there at the time.
I think I'm going to copy those heritage stripes on mz car someday. They really do the design of the car justice. I might also swap to a spoiler without 3rd brake light. In 1989 3rd brake lights were illegal in Germany, so my car isn't even allowed to have a working one.
The rear definately looks clean without having a brake light in the rear spoiler

That it is, but it also explained why mine was painted over by the previous owner. I now just disconnected the wire, which is also ok, but I definately prefer the clean look of a spoiler without third brake light.

It's just a single pip from the cats back then splits into two tips. No muffler.
Yesterday we found out I have no rear brakes at all except the parking brake and even the right rear cable for that is seized. Had to cut that, and I just ordered a new one. Had to replace the adjusters on the rear drums (both sides). I did that today. I replaced the heater core yesterday. Also had to replace the thermostat. My dad snapped the bolts holding the water neck on (unavoidable). We had to weld a nut on what was left and get them out that way. Finally did it though.
Now I have a new brake cable on the way and a new tv cable because mine is sticky and the end clip broke. Better off getting a new one.
It was a fun 2 days!
