Problems, problems...getting frustrated.
I figured I would post here since there is a few different things, and it's easier than posting all over the place.
1. Shifting. (I did post about this already but just bringing it up again) The car shifts hard from 1 to 2. But not always. If I'm gentle on the gas (maybe 1/4 throttle) the RPMs peak (according to the gauge which I don't believe) then when ti finally shifts, the car jolts. If I push the gas just a tiny bit further, sometimes it will shift (almost on command if you say so). If I push the gas more from a stop (maybe 1/2 to full throttle) it will shift perfectly fine.
1.a. Not sure if it's connected to number one but when I shift into drive (just drive) the car jolts. As if the torque was twisting the car (i know that's not it, just how it "feels") Only happens when I shift into overdrive.
2. My rear passenger side drum break has been giving me problems since I bought the car. At first the car would pull to the right which now makes me think the brake wasn't adjust properly. I put new adjusters on both rear drums because I had no rear breaks(adjusters were basically rock solid). Also, the parking break cable for that wheel was seized or frozen (would not move) so we temporarily cut it. We cut it because while we adjusted the brake and we spun the tire, it would get locked up. Everything was or seemed to be fine at that point. Last weekend I replaced the brake cable with a new one, and my dad's brother-in-law did the adjusting on the brakes. Is it possible that he didn't put something back into place correctly or that something came loose? It was fine until I came home from work today. I haven't noticed the squealing before that. And I noticed that the wheels locks up MUCH easier than the others.
Sorry, I tend to say A LOT. I appreciate any help that I can get, because this is really frustrating me. I love my car and I'd hate to have to let it go this soon because of little things.

Re: Problems, problems...getting frustrated.
well im sorry about your problems.but it comes with owning a third gen, so welcome to the club......
1.sounds like a line pressure issue, shift solenoid, &/or accumulator. easyest check you can do is check your t.v. cable at your throttle body its on the same lever as your accelerator cable. check if its broken or stretched as it can play games with your line pressures and shift timing.ADJUST ONLY IF YOU THINK YOU NEED TO. you will more than likely need to take it into a trans shop. it was $750 for a complete rebuild on my 90 rs trans when i was in school and couldnt fix it myself.
1a. this also relating to shift solenoids, line pressures, and accumulators.my rs used to do the same thing, after the rebuild its so smooth into drive and reverse, cause you know it does it in reverse to just not as hard.unfortunately my iroc is starting to do the same thing.im almost scared to change the trans fluid and filter....
2. so whats wrong with your brakes now? yes he could of done something wrong, or over adjusted them, or did everything right that you have not been used to working correctly.

Re: Problems, problems...getting frustrated.
Well, I was expecting problems, and I wanted this as a project car anyway! I just thought it was fixed, and now it's worse. haha
1. I replaced the TV cable already thinking it would fix the problem, but now the TV cable doesn't slide back into the cable sleeve when you let go of the throttle lever. It stays out, and the black end clip slides along the cable. Could this be the problem? I just don't get how it will shift fine if I push just a little harder on the gas.
You said you are scared to change the filter and fluid? Why is that?
2. The brake (or what I assume to be the brake) makes a squealing type of sound (like metal on metal, or as if the breaks are worn down to their wear indicators). The pads, or shoes?, are not worn down. I also noticed that that wheels is the first to lock up. For example, there is a speed bump in my apartment complex, and right in front of it,on the right side of the road there is a little sand. (not a lot!) Every time I slow down to go over the speed bump, that wheel locks up and slides, and the others don't.

A reason to be afraid to change trans fluid is that on a fluid change you will notice a problem with the break band.
As fr the brakes, were the brake pads worn down? If the brake was adjusted it might be that that causes your difference in brake power left to right. In that case itīll wear out after a short while.
Personally I completely renewed my drum brakes last week. New pads, new cylinders, new cables, new drums. The brakes now also make a few occasional noises but these will disappear as soon as the brakes are worn in.
Best have a trans shop look at the transmission and TV cable though. If the TV cable is sticky it might still be causing some issues.
Other then that, avilla pretty much covered the tranny part. Stay confident. These cars are not new. They will always have some rough edges that require work. Comes with the charm however.

The Appearance and Detailing - Members Camaros section is not the proper place for posting general questions. You have two questions that belong in different places. One in the Brakes section the other in the Transmission section.
