Those door pins are a pain.No matter how careful you are with them, at least on always seems to break on yah.Especially on a 20+ year old car.

Re: 1aauto.com Camaro Z28 IROC Project Car
i don't know about that. I just pulled my door panels, use the proper tool, and got them all off without breaking one or tearing up the cardboard in the panel itself
Re: 1aauto.com Camaro Z28 IROC Project Car
Hey Tony!! I didn't see your post with the other videos. I only saw the weatherstripping part. I watched the other videos tonight and you need to tell Mike that he advertises how to properly install new parts, but he isn't properly removing the old parts. A putty knife should not be used to remove the door panel! The panel popper in the post above will release all of the clips and should allow them to be reused. Using a putty knife will not only break/ruin the clips, but could rip the cardboard backer not allowing a proper install.
Doing restorations is not cheap and using proper tools will keep the costs down even more for most people.

From what ive seen, based on some careless shipping mistakes in the past, im not surprised to see how they are "tearing" this car apart. Paint job or not...

I hope our pickyness won't stop them from posting new videos, because I realy like the concept of what they are trying to do.
but to Tony, mike and the guys, just remember, we're tired of seeing guys hack up cars, and if you're going to do it, please ndo it the correct way so we can refer to your videos as a reference source without reservations

Re: 1aauto.com Camaro Z28 IROC Project Car
it's funny you should say that. when I took off my door panels, I already had replacements to go on in their place. I still used the right tool, and I still did the best job I could in removing them, because it's just a good idea. I was doing that in my garage, just for me. I certainly wouldn't have done any different if I was doing a "how to" video and posting it on youtube
Re: 1aauto.com Camaro Z28 IROC Project Car
If your door key lock cylinder has gone bad. This video will show you what's involved with removing it, so that it can be replaced.

I like how you have been choosing to do the 'smaller' not often thought about items like door handles, directional lenses etc. Truly good DIY projects for all levels that will show immediate results. Thanks!

This video helped me figure out why mine doesn't work....the actual plug-in for mine is gone! Would I have to buy a new motor to fix that?

If the plug on the motor itself is gone than more than likely. If the wire harness is missing the plug end than you can probably get a pig tail from the dealer and solder it on.

Re: 1aauto.com Camaro Z28 IROC Project Car
x2, lol.
I replaced the plugs once myself, I got five done and had to take it to a shop to get the other three on the passenger side done. What a nightmare that job was.
Plugs only have 30k miles on them now, but it's been 10+ years since I replaced them so it may not be a bad idea to do new plugs/wires again, ugh.

Does it really have to do with how tall you are? Im 6'4 and I reached all plugs and wires standing up no problem...

Sorry Mike and I went drag racing last week at the Pontiac Nationals held at the Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk OH.
I was in the 1aauto parts booth.
Here's some footage I shot. I was wondering if any of you guys were out there.
