Changing water pump on 5.7 easier than I thought

I was pretty happy to learn how easy it was to change out the water pump on my '89 5.7 TPI. Just 4 bolts and one hose clamp. The only tough part was putting on the new serpentine belt even with the idler turned hard over. I was glad I took a few pictures with my cell phone on the belt routing.

Using a large screwdriver, I coaxed the belt on and I was done.

the water pump is super easy, the belt(s) are more of a pain on the earlier v belt engines.

A screwdriver? A 1/2" breaker bar or ratchet is all you needed.

Yeah, I used that. Still needed to coax the belt on. Had to have someone hold the breaker bar hard over but even that wasn't a big issue.
