Re: My 1982 Z28 (Pics)
It's a 4 inch and it sucks. It's a cheapo lift off that I got until I buy a better one or finish my hood project.
Unfortunately the paint looks better in the pics than it is. It's original and has been on so long and waxed so much is really thin and coming off in a few places. Also spider cracked bad on the bumpers. I got new bumpers now do its going in for paint very soon.

Thats a nice car. It's always nice to see an early thirdgen that is still in good shape. What are the specs on your engine?

383ci, Patriot aluminum heads, comp hyd roller cam, port matched victor jr intake, 11 to 1 compression, Quick Fuel 750cfm carb, Hooker super comp headers, full mufflex exhuast.
Dont know HP never dyno'd it. Not had it to the track with this combo either.

Just this one. Its when we first put in the engine so its messy under there.

If you look close you can see the wonderful custom heater box my buddy made. It makes that back spark plug and header bolts much easier to get to.

Thats cool. Other than your hood there would be no way to tell you have a 383 in that car. Ha ha I am sure alot of people think you have a stock 305 in your car until you start it up.

Im also switching to a fiberglass front and rear bumper so they dont sink like the plastic factory ones. Unfortunately they dont come in 82-84 style so itll look like a newer one.

No no A/C. I dont need it it was just in the way and taking power. My A/C is taking the t-tops out.

Re: My 1982 Z28 (Pics)
Ha yeah I understand. Your car is still very cool. Its an early thirdgen in good shape that has a lot of potential. Ha ha even with your new hood I still think it will be a little bit of a sleeper lol.
Yeah its a bit of a sleeper lol. For a while I had the factory hood on it but the air cleaner I had to run with it was killing power and I couldnt get it tuned in decent so I bought this hood and it sucks so Im building a steel cowl hood that follows the factory lines better.
Im also switching to a fiberglass front and rear bumper so they dont sink like the plastic factory ones. Unfortunately they dont come in 82-84 style so itll look like a newer one.
