love the color. which orange is it?
i personally would have left the pin strip off, but i know its a iroc so you want to make it look a little factory. i would also lower it too..

Re: 1986 Iroc Finally out of garage Photo's

it's hugger orange. as for lowering nope. the 468 in the front dictated that. wanted it to look factory except for the cowl hood. amd the stock iroc wheels couldn't have big enough tire the rears are 275 60 15 but i wanted 295 60 15's the rears are a 10 inch rim and the fronts are an 8 inch rim. that was teh first time that i can say it is close to done. first day i ever drove teh car other than from one garage to another in my driveway. i took it around the sub. still need to tune it timing was alittle off. i have owned it for 3 years and it had sat in a field for 10 years so it hasn['t moved under it's own power in 13 years now my son took it about a year ago around the sub he got to the other end of my street and it died and had to be towed back i told him it wasn't ready but kids don't listen. it's been a fun project. going to Texas with it in a few weeks. (june 2nd ) then when i get back i will start getting my 91 z28 done shouldn't take more than a few weeks once i buy the parts needed. all window regulators and tracks for the drivers window headliner door panels and t-top weather striping and paint. the 91 is going one of 3 colors havent decided yet purple haze, brilliant red metalic factory color, or Black leaning towards black but the wife wants it black with hugger orange stripes me i think it might look like holloween

Congratulations on the coming out party. I just took down an '86 that was sitting on floor jacks for 13 years, too. It's a good feeling.

Thanks! It's nice to finally be putting things back ON the car. I've been debating what color to paint it, and now after seeing yours Hugger Orange is on the list.

Re: 1986 Iroc Finally out of garage Photo's

here is my next project. it started off as a $500 car that turned out to be totally complete messed up but complete so i have been rebuilding it also. It's a 91 z28 has 102XXX miles 305 tpi and 700r4 it had the 2.73 posi rear it now has a 3.08 posi just cause i had it laying around from a parts car. the interior was covered in red material the gray carpet was covered in black carpet glued to it so that was all removed and with the parts car i got brand new black carpet. the Iroc had 91 seats in it so i removed tehm and put them in here and took the seats (high backed) out of the parts car and put them in here. so the interior is now complete minus headliner and door panels. and rear speakers ran out of 6x9's. it will need t-top weather stripping and the colume rebuilt and tires and caps but that is about it other than the odvious paint. the motor would turn over but wouldn't start so i replaced teh computer since it was unplugged so i figured it was bad. the distributr was hard to turn so i replaced that and once it ran it had a miss so i replaced teh injectors with one's from a tpi i picked up. the car now runs and drives. so the rest is now cake but heres the car the day i got it and what it looks like now after just power washing it .

and the parts car after the interior was removed and the roof taken off just in case sold alot of parts off of it and ended up paying for both the parts car and the 91 z28 and the computer and distrubutor and tpi unit so right now the 91 has been free i still have a complete interior gray minus carpet and door panels a complete 91 dash rear end rear hatch rear bumper rear axle blisten shocks but there going on the z28 and misc pieces all from the the parts car the motor i got 350 for it and the t-5 swat i got 650 for it sold the side skirts t-tops and colume (opps) needed that also have a spare passenger door (manual ) but need a drivers door regulator. that was my daughters friends stripping it for me it was here a day and a half and left on a 4x8 trailer cut in 2 pieces.

Re: 1986 Iroc Finally out of garage Photo's

keep it stock as possible. clean it up and paint it not sure on the color. honestly i'm being lazy is the only reason for the up in the air about color. i want to do it black wife wants hugger orange stripes on it. not sure about that. can you say halloween if i do a color change pulling the motor is in order and everything else under the hood. if i go back to the stock color i don't have to do that. the stock color is brilliant red metalic which isn't a eye popping color but does look good. so in the air as i said. there just something about a black z28 that looks mean /sharp who like i said color is in the air. so the 3 colors to chose from

Black just down right the best color
brilliant red metalic factory color
purple haze color i thought the car was
