after a 9 month hiatus, its finally done, few odds and ends to clean up but its 99.5% done

Its a 92 Camaro RS B4C/1LE car, ex Utah Highway Patrol car.

Back last year i hit a rock and destroyed the oil pan on the 305 TPI 5 speed.

So i did a 96 LT1/T56 OBDII swap with an XR270HR cam, 1.6rr custom exhaust, LTCC conversion, REV wheels, Koni's

Then in September of '11 the paint stared to peel really bad, so i stripped it down, took all the interior out, swapped out cluster, dash cap, new carpet and dyed the interior panels black, micro suede headliner and sails.

I also did a high-rise wing swap, custom emblems ext.

paint is satin black

Re: Finally finished my project: 92 B4C/1LE
The micro suede seats are recaro knock offs, I did the shift boot, headliner, sails and visors in the micro suede.

The paint, hahaha, you guys won't believe me if I told you but I used VHT Rollbar satin black paint. Yes I rattle canned the entire car. 18 cans to be exact

Honestly it's all the prep work, I took all the bumpers, weather striping, gfx, lights, doors, key locks, ect off or out, sanded with 320, primered, primer sealed, sand with 600, then painted.

I shaved the nose emblem as well with 3M plastic epoxy, as well as fixed myfront GFX cracks. There's some things I fubared on but overall I think it came out great for a first time resto project

Re: Finally finished my project: 92 B4C/1LE
here are some more updates and pics

Took some pics of my finished interior,

Headliner i re-did myself using automotive micro-suede headliner with 1/8" foam backing, same material used for the sails and visors, a shop re-did the visors for me and used red stitching to compliment the shift boot and seats.

1.Autometer phantoms in Classic Dash pre-made 91-92 bezel
2.I added the small lights for the turn signals, SES and high beams
3.Hawks 6 speed sticker for center shift plate
4.LT1 Dash emblem
5.Recaro knock-offs in micro suede with red stitching
6.Grant GT signature 14" signature wheel

Looks really good, I have to say I am not a big fan of the satin black (sorry I am a 35 year body business guy) because they ussually look like primmer to me. I have to say yours looks really professional and clean, love the interior also, good job brother.

Everything looks really good as usual!

Are the wheels the same as your thread down in the Wheels section?

Re: Finally finished my project: 92 B4C/1LE
can we get a couple of engine pics?

i love the fact that you put so much engineering into your car and then rattle canned the paint (and it looks good). i really like all of your choices in materials.

did you say that those wheels did not require spacers?

if it isnt too much trouble can you post a link up to the part number of those wheels? in that same color, btw. it looks as though you have the same size wheels front and back. if you were to go with a next size down (narrower) front wheel, do you know if they would still fit without spacers?

i can see that there are some challenges in getting an LT1 to look clean in a Third Gen engine bay. at least you lost the Optispark.

incidently, i had a pretty nice 96 Z28 myself - full bolt on, Baer Brakes. i bought it in '99, sold it in 2011. i sold it for cheap when i got my Formula on the road.

personally, i think it would be worth it for you to drill a hole and be able to make use of the plentifull aray of CAI's that would get your element out of the engine bay, and possibly clean up the look. based on what i've seen so far, whatever you do, i have faith that it will look sharp in the end.

Re: Finally finished my project: 92 B4C/1LE
yeah im going to relocate the coil packs, re-do the fuel lines to behind the brake booster, try and clean up some of the wiring lines from the LTCC box, then add the covers which should hide a lot. then focus on moving the air filter.

oh and i finally got the correct LT1 coolant lines from the heater core to the radiator, that should clean it up some as well
