WOW. So, so, SO glad I stumbled onto this thread. I thought I was the only one who was dumb enough to go get a car and bring it home without "permission". I told my wife that I was going about 100 miles away to look at a Z28, and there was an outside possibility that I would be bringing it home. I really was not set on bringing it home when I left that morning, but when I got there, it was just too nice to not bring home. She. Was. Not. Happy. BUT, what made it worse for me was that I told her when I initially brought it home that I would sell my '01 Jeep Cherokee and the Z would become my daily driver. When my dad and brothers heard THAT, THEY went berserk because we live in Ohio, and you know the winters here can be pretty brutal, and a winter or two of driving the Z would take a serious toll on it. In my heart of hearts, I knew they were right. When I told her I decided to keep the Jeep and the Camaro would essentially become a summer toy... I thought that winter came early because it was ice cold around here for a while. She's ridden in it a couple of times, but I think she'll be more open to the idea once it's paid for. I'm working to get it paid off, but until then, the Z and I will continue to get the stink eye.

You're right - had I asked, my garage would be currently empty. Had to do it, I guess...!

Re: Grounds for Divorce??
So, yesterday I decided to take an 8 hour road trip to take a look at a 91 Z28 that I have been eyeing. I recruited one of my friends to take the trip with me. Yesterday was my day off, and my wife had already left for work so, lets just say I "forgot" to tell her what I was doing. By the time I got home last night, it was after midnight and the wife was asleep. With me when I arrived home, was my "new" 100% original 91 Z28 with 18k miles!
Once again this morning, I was out the door at 5:30am to go to work and she was still asleep. I am kind of dreading going home tosay, as she will be there, and I will be pulling into our driveway with my 2nd 3rd gen. I will let you you guys know if I need a place to stay.

Well my story is a bit diferent. I already have an 89 GTA for parts and a running 85 T/A and I was looking at a 89 GTA on Ebay in Arizona (I live in Puerto Rico) and she offered to buy it for me. So know I have my Third Thirdgen a Beutifull 89 white GTA. and she love it.
Re: Grounds for Divorce??
I had a similar problem , I had been watching a half finished project an 87 iroc on Ebay for a couple of weeks . Then the last five minutes before the auction finished the missus walks in and checks out the screen .Didn't have time to make up a story . Twenty five thousand dollars later I had the car and a lot of work . She's a good sport and all worked out fine so far. I just don't fill her in on what I am spending on it
