im trying to get rid of he 882's for some iron l98 heads, but what I was thinking was why not try and get the 882's to flow well. three options are open
1) 2 bolt main, 882 heads, lt1 intake tpi harness
2) 2 bolt main iron l98 heads lt1 intake harness
3) buy 4th gen donor and swap over lt1 and t56
but seeing how some ppl say 882s are good and other say no its confusing.

Bad thing about 882s, 083, or any other stock head is by the time you spend the money on machine work and prep, you could have bought some new vortecs or other aftermarket heads.

Unless you can find a good deal on some that someone else spent the money on.

Thanks man, that other good flew off my car, where I'm stationed at has a lot of bumps. I gave that hood to white good 88 he's been doing body work for thirty years so he wanted it. Haven't been able to even think bout messing with the rs cause of the holidays and now I'm in sf training for 21 days so hopefully I save some cash. I've gota 350 block that once my tax money hits, it's goin to the machine shop so we shall see how things go.

 

not an update, I did however race another third gen lol beat him but it was fun and also raced a box chevy caprice with a 350 in it beat him by three quarters of a car. I have some pics that took I need to upload on pb. decided im not gonna use my tax money on the engine either ill spend it elsewhere like rebuilding the front suspension and all new bushings and gonna look at lowering it.

 

finally pics of nothing lol, I bought some power stop performance rotors today gonna buy brake hoses and thinking of maybe new calipers.

 

rockauto rotors today ill go get braded brake lines if I can find em and pads and wheel bearings.

 

well been a min had to replace my rear end on my fourth gen, but I did buy today the ls1 dual fans and a ls drive shaft. I have a to upload the pics to photobucket so tomorrow they'll be up.

 

this is my new hood, had to get rid of the fiber glass didn't like how it bowed up while driving.

and my LS1 fans, need to figure out how im going to plug them up with a single connecter..

Those LS fans....how does the shape of those fit the 3rd gen. radiator? Are major mods needed?

 

from what I just read, no all I have to do is drill two holes on the shroud and rad support, other then that its simple. but my car never ever came with a/c, so I don't have to cut off some condenser tabs. Ill grab the thread I just read.

well putting the fans were easy as hell, but im not much of an wiring guru so that part took most of my day yesterday. I ended up plugging the harness up to one and made a manual switch for the other, I didn't have to cut anything yet besides my fan shroud. right now I have two metal straps up top holding them down and then a zip tie on the buttom. it just rained today bad or else id make some holes to boolt this down along with my fan shroud.

i put my grid tail lights back on cause i messed up on my driver side tail in the pic, none the less they are painted too just dont have a pic of them.

 

What kind of. Headlights are those? They look really nice, like a contemporary OE upgrade without screaming aftermarket.

Makes that front end look younger I think...

but i got some rims and tires today, 160 miles on the tires and a fresh coat of powdercoated basic model c5 rims.



And... lol i ran at the local 1/4 mile today and first run ever down the track with the car and the cars first time ever we managed to get a 15.6
was supposed to race my friend in his 85 Z but he decided to wreck his car and his best time before he fixed his tranny was a 16.5, so when his car gets back on the road we will race.

Sorry haven't been on here in a while, I finally got that 350 to the shop just waitin on them now, still have to find some 113 heads have those freshened up. Not really an update just a hey I'm still workin on the car..

Got rid of the 6.0, needed too much work, traded it for a 4.8 that wiped a lobe on the cam just need to buy a gasket set and engine stand and put it back together..
