Here's the floor.
I know, they are bad. And in bad spots too. But I want to get a set of SFC's then fix the floor. Or brace it with jack stands and what not really well, then tackle it.

Doesn't look that bad. My 91 project has some rust on the passengers side front floor. The heater core leaked/had leaked and the coolant had sat. I was under the car pulling the transmission and noted it. Metal is soft but but rusted through.....don't know whats gonna happen with that.
Good luck!
Good luck!

Re: Back with a 91 RS Project!
Hey guys. It's been longer than I wanted to get into the car, but I'm back! Over this weekend, a buddy and I buttoned up a few things to see if she will run.
Now, I MIGHT have the timing off 180. If that's the case, will the injectors fire? The fuel pump is working fine, but I don't see any spray. I used starting fluid to try to get it started, but the battery wouldn't spin the motor fast enough. Need to really charge it up.
When we try with starting fluid, we get a few extremely loud bangs (Only manifolds on right now), sounds like each cylinder gets lit eventually. Do you think it's just not spinning fast enough to catch?
We tried for a while today. But I'll try again next weekend.
Tell me if anything is missing in order for the motor to at least START.
ECM Is hooked up.
Distributor in place.
Plugs are new
Wires were just grabbed from a salvage yard
vats is hooked up ( I assume that's fine since it cranks)
Has spark to the distributor
Keep in mind, my only goal right now is to see if it will start. Maybe get it running for a few seconds.
There's no coolant or tranny lines hooked up. (It was a hack job), and no sensors, that I know of (such as coolant temp and thee such.)
Can you think if anything else that is absolutely NEEDED to get it to start/run somewhat. I get this car cheap, and if it starts/runs, I will fix it up. If not, I'll part it out.
Sorry If I ramble on, and make no sense. Bare with me!

I hope you dont part it out. Would like to see how you repair the rust on the floor pans. I purchased an 91 rs that was sitting for 6 years and has same rust areas. My car also didnt run and the gas smelled rank like paint remover. You might want to check if the fuel is bad. Mine eventually started with the bad gas and spraying carb cleaner down the carb as a friend cranked the motor till it started.
Not having sensors connected may also be a problem.

I'd really prefer to restore it. Not numbers matching, but you know what I mean.
I hope the timing is my last piece here, but I highly doubt it.

Re: Back with a 91 RS Project!
Good news! We got the camaro to START! Only with starting fluid though. She's not getting fuel to the throttle body. Might just to be little in the tnak, but we shall see. I don't think the injectors are pulsing though. I will take a look again this weekend.
Anything I should look for?

Re: Back with a 91 RS Project!
Alright, I don't know if anybody is following but Even more progress today. We got her running on her own! She wasn't getting fuel to the throttle body. A line was disconnected under the car. I have one injector that is stuck open, and one that doesn't work. Ill try cleaning them out the best I can. But, she ran! And pretty good considering the condition and mileage (on the cluster anyway.)
Moved her across the back yard to a better spot. We pushed her, then had to give her a little tug. haha

I want to refinish my wheels too. They are pretty faded!

Yes it is! Now it's time to really dig in. After I find a place to store all the pieces!

The tops of the wheel wells are fine. It's the bottom forward corner near the control arm mount that has a hole on both sides. Oh well...If I'm going to fix it all anyway, what's another.
