1989 IROC L98 w. 58,000 miles
Picked up this Camaro recently - my second 89 (with the last being a few years ago). The first 89 IROC I had was a okay-shape project I cleaned up (interior, 4th gen seats and rear end). This one has saw 5,000 in its first 5 years, 35k over the next 4 years, and then went between slow miles and sitting unmoved since 1998.
It runs fantastic, drives smoothly and is reliable. Glad to have A/C and one that never overheats. I plan to drive it more regularly and will keep it stock for now, but eventually would like to go with a Eddy intake & TB setup (or LS, as I'm currently doing a 5.3 into an 81 Firebird for a future DD), better exhaust, cam, etc.
Right now this car has:
-Harris Performance Stage 1 chip
-South Bay injectors
-Magnaflow muffler and hi-flow cat (still a single until later)
-Innovative Wiring Big 3 H/O kit
-Sony's amplified MEX-xb100bt head unit with Polk speaker and a shallow Rockford Fosgate PS-8 subwoofer in the rear. After some tuning, it is a pleasure to have crystal clear sound with some punch.
-Have some BMR subframe connectors to install next month
So fun to be back in a third gen again, and in such a lovely one to boot.
