It's so frustrating with all the rain we've gotten. So I went to a test and tune on a track that wasent prepped worth a crap. Managed to pull a 10.50@127mph 1.42 60 foot.
This makes 6 passes total I've made now and its mid june..... should have been 40 or so by now.
This car launches so smoothly I think I finally have the drag bar set right. Leaves level and straight!
update on the street beast. Got a new pb yesterday 10.18@130mph. No changes over last year, just new radials and a new tune. Same 509 bbc 9.6:1 comp all motor.
Made a few more passes. Much more humid and warm this week but the car did well. Da was up 2500 compared to last weeks 40 degree weather. Playing with tire pressure yesterday and some fueling tunes. A vid where i spun with 20psi in the radials. Found 18.5psi is perfect for the track conditions we had. 10.25@130mph with a slow 60 foot was best.
Some more vids and times. Cars doing well. Best pb now is a 10.17@131mph and the best overall 60 is 1.38. It just may have a 9.99 in it as is one of these days with the right tune.
Well its time for a rebuild. Not doing anything crazy this winter. Just freshening up the bottom end. Wow was it worn. The ring gaps on the old rings were from .050-.065. That explains the lack of cranking pressure and blow by i was seeing pretty much all year long. Still made some impressive passes with those issues.
Its going back together as i make time. Cant wait to ve racing again. Got my little daughter to help me too.
