Finally Found My "New" IROC

I sold my 1983 Z28 11 months ago because I wanted a nicer one, didn't think it would take so long to find it's replacement. Yesterday I bought a 1989 IROC that had been sitting in a garage not being driven much about 2 blocks from James Cs house, he had never seen it either even though we had both heard about it and I had tried to find it. It turned up on craigslist yesterday morning. I called and woke the seller up and went to see it. It's an ok car, been repainted from the original dark red to a metallic, has new tires, shocks, window rubber and exhaust. The drives seat has bad bolsters but res of interior is average plus. It's a low option car with manual windows which would have been a deal breaker a year ago but not after looking so long. Seems to run ok, happy to have a third gen sitting in the garage again.

Re: Finally Found My "New" IROC

I filled it up with gas and i'm going to drive it, probably take the tops off and clean it up in the spring. I'd like to find a seat but it's pretty much what I want the way it is.

Re: Finally Found My "New" IROC

Thanks, I'm looking forward (way forward) to warmer weather so I can get the engine compartment and interior cleaned up. It had been sitting covered with dust for quite a while and I was amazed at the nice paint and shine when I cleaned it up with a California duster, didn't need to wash it. I'm fortunate to have James C for a friend so I have a valuable resource (besides this group) to help me diagnose problems and come up with solutions.

I like it and I actually prefer the manual windows. Cool car.
