I honestly expected the 305 apologists to come in and start talking about how the car would be so much better, if only it had the OE engine block.
I give mad props for installing a late model crate engine instead of a rebuilt smogger 350 from a farm truck, an LS, or an overpriced 305 stroker kit. It's not glamorous but it's a wise choice. And the execution is fantastic. Everything is clean, organized, it doesn't look like someone was cutting corners with a chainsaw. Well done!

Exactly right! Would I love the ease of a turn the key and drive anywhere of an LS sure but when it's time for a new engine old school SBC it will be!

A carburetor isn't all that bad when it's properly tuned and in good condition, ethanol issues aside. Should be able to drive anywhere as long as you avoid major environmental changes, like altitude, hot/cold, etc. Then you start to benefit from all the factory gizmos everyone throws away to clean things up under the hood. I didn't know a damn thing about cars when I got my 83 LG4, drove that car everywhere year round for 3 years, wasn't a problem until the Quadrajet suffered a failure.
thanks guys very much , sorry for the delay on more pictures its been a rough few weeks (im a paramedic ) with everything going on . here are some more photos , as you can see im still working on some wiring .
