Hi everyone!
I've had my '91 RS for 7 years. I bought it at an auction in Florida and I'm the second owner. It currently has 57,000 miles and climbing. The paint is mostly original with the exception of a few small spots. The drivetrain is bone stock from the L03 to the 2.73 open diff. It has full Hotchkis suspension under it and a set of leather GTA seats I picked up for pretty cheap. I've been browsing this forum for years to get information and I figured it was time to sign up and introduce myself.
Welcome! Any plans for the car or are you driving it as is?
I'd like to do wheels and tires, just to get away from the 16's and preferably something I don't need spacers to run. Aside from that better brakes and maybe a rear gear change. Right now it handles better than it stops, so that's a problem. I have a couple TPI set ups for it, but I don't think I'm going to go through the trouble of switching it over.

Thanks. There is a bit of a story behind how I got the seats, but it's pretty long winded. They're a huge upgrade over the stock seats. I no longer feel like I'm going to fall out of the seats when taking hard turns.
Beautiful car Your engine is so freaking clean! . Changing to a good 3in exhaust, 373 gears and an S10 torque converter was a big seat of pants upgrade for my LO3 car.

Thank you. It was definitely cared for before I got it. I was thinking 3.73's and an exhaust, I was unaware of the S10 converter though. Excuse the amateur question, but if I do an exhaust would I have to do anything with the chip? I don't need it to be fast, just looking for a little extra pep. I have an '85 Cutlass if I want to go fast.
Nice looking RS! In my own personal opinion, T-Top in any state across this great Union would be better on a hot sunny day, but nothing beats a 3rd Gen on looks for that time period & this is coming from a diehard Mustang lover. I got a soft spot for 3rd Gen Camaros, I've owned 6 of them.
BTW, this is your thread so, any 3rd Gen related long winded story is welcomed around here. Be so kind to share your story on the procurement of your GTA seats.
Thank you. I like not having T-Tops. It seems like just about every other 3rd gen I see has them. Since you insisted on hearing my story I'll share it. It is a pretty ridiculous one, but here it goes. It starts last May when I was talking to friend who owns a shop that had an '88 GTA in for some work. The owner of the car passed away unexpectedly and the family just wanted to get rid of the car. I made an offer and it was accepted. I took the seats, TPI set up and some miscellaneous odd and ends. This is where things take an odd turn for the GTA. I didn't want to deal with reselling it and didn't want to scrap it because I think it was pretty rare for how it was optioned. It was Bright Red with Medium Dark Gray leather. I ended up trading it to a friend who I sold my factory wheels to for $200 after I bought 4th gen SS wheels in 2020. The SS wheels didn't clear my tie rod ends for whatever reason so I needed wheels again and I figured it would make a good story for both of us. That's the story on how I got GTA seats for cheap and yes everything works on the seats, lumbar included.
Great story, hope you keep this thread going with what you do with it (add-ons and what not). Up here in Indiana, it gets harder to find T-Top Camaros that are not ate up with holes or none left at all. All I see up here are hardtops, both good & junk condition.

I know its been a while since I've made an update. This past weekend I picked up a set of virtually new C5 front brakes for next to nothing. I was told they have about 100 miles on them, they have a little surface rust on the rotors from sitting. My friend I traded the GTA to was given the brakes, but he wasn't going to use them. He called me and asked if I wanted them for $350 everything included. I plan on taking everything apart and repainting the calipers and spindles.
