Thank you thirdgen.org members

This is my first ever engine build. And my first true project car. I started from ground zero with a shell and a rear end.
I'm proud as hell to say I'M the one who built this sbc 350 myself and got this car to this point. Car isn't done yet but I was so excited to hear this thing run today I had to get on here and share my joy and thank the members of thirdgen.org forum for all the wealth of knowledge you all have and the help this site offers people like me who aren't "mechanics". I couldn't have gotten this far without this forum!

Basic build info:
350 with vortec heads, flattop pistons, and a summit 8802 cam. Holley 4160 600cfm. 3.23 rear gear now. And a freshly rebuilt 700r4. ECM removed.

A sound clip from the first start up in the car today.
Ignore the squeaky AC compressor if you can hear it, just haven't bought the delete pulley yet.

Re: Thank you thirdgen.org members

Congrats for getting your 3rd gen to this point. Keep going; nothing succeeds like success.

I can still recall the thrill of hearing the first engine that I built when it fired up and ran, 60+ years ago. There were many more engine builds after that first one, but that one sticks in my memory to this day.
