Re: Updated 87 Project Pictures

The paint looks amazing. Are those TTII's? I don't normally like them on third gens but they really work well on your car.

Re: Updated 87 Project Pictures

oh ok...i'm using that copper off those dodge daytona trucks...i love that color, i had to settle for a tangerine type color cuz thatdaytona truck paint is 225 per quart! but yeah dude, thats a sweet looking car, i hope mine looks that good when i'm done, by the way, have you had any trouble with that ram air hood? i want one but i saw it at a car show and it had cracks all in the paint cuz of the fiberglass bending when they closed it and such, thanks man...again, great car!

Re: Updated 87 Project Pictures

Ive had no problem with paint cracking and stuff, i do have a crack at the back of the engine bay driver side from having the power struts on it, But its a minor crack under the hood, you cant even see it and its just a paint crack from stress.

When you paint make sure you get enough hardner in it and plenty of clear coat, my paint chips to easy... if i can in about 5 years im going to strip it all down and repaint in the same color the right way b/c the guy that originally painted it kinda screwed it up.
Good luck, post some pics when your finished painting

Re: Updated 87 Project Pictures

i sanded to metal wehre the paint was bad, i.e. where it was gray or peeling, i made sure that the surrounding areas were bare metal and then i primed them, the areas wehre thepaint was good, like the doors and fenders, were able to just be scuffed on mine...i just finished painting it myself today, i'll post some pics when i get it all nice and show ready

I'm totally intrigued by those giant birds on the sail panel. I'd like to see a more close up picture, but they look really cool. Good job!

Wow, looks good! The paint looks awesome. And I love your gauge setup, exactly how I would have done it, some day I plan on doing a set like that except on a Camaro.

All you need is to get that interior all purdy like the exterior. Good job!

Re: Updated 87 Project Pictures

formy, let me see if i can get my digital bck and get some pics....
----------
jimmy your lucky w/ the camaro there is a company called covans that makes a perfect fit dash with autometer gauges for about$700 bucks....
mine actually cost about $1000 with everything... the stock dash which i had to buy the piece for b/c i had a broken digital dash in mine.... that was 40 from the scrapyard, 60 in leatherete material, and about 850 or so in gauges and install equipment. But at the end of the day it was worth every penny... they light up neon green at night,,, looks sick.... highly recomend this ...
