Why I love thirdgens. My dad's 82 Iron Duke...
Hey everyone. Just figured Ide post a couple pics and a short story. I was digging through some old pictures, and stumbled across a few of my dad's old car. He got an 82 firebird brand new back in 82. It was an Iron Duke with an auto trans. Silver with dark red interior. T-tops. Complete with hubcaps and no rear spoiler. haha. Now I was only 2 when he got it...but he had it for a few years, so I do remember riding in it. I remember my dad doing "one-wheel peels" in it. That thing would burn that single tire up like nobody's business.
My favorite memory, and probably the reason Ill never buy one without t-tops is when I was 3. We used to go to strasburg railroad and watch the trains go by. My pop would sit me up on the t-bar roof so I could watch them. First time there the whistle scared the crap out of me so I jumped down and hid under the dash. After that I was ok and would sit up there for hours and watch the trains.
Haha corny story I know. Just thought Ide share it and a couple pictures. I scanned them in and they are old pictures from who knows what kind of camera. I cleaned them up a bit in PS...
Enjoy and feel free to post up pics/stories similar to mine!

Nice looking Bird, thanks for sharing the story. My duke had the same color of interior and boy was it tough to find replacement parts
