Current Project
Okay, this is my current project. Forgive the crappy pictures, I only have a camera phone. My dad barrowed my digital camera a few months ago and never gave it back. >:/
Last weekend I took the rear spoiler off the car completely, body puddied in the holes, sanded it down with 40, 80, & 320 grit sandpaper. I then sprayed it with primer and went for another round of 320 grit sandpaper. Then I spraypainted (spraycans are cheap... temporary until I can get it actually painted) it with matching red paint (same color as the rest of my car) and clear. I figure this will hold it until I can get it painted in a shop. Here's the end result:

I wish I took a 'before' picture, but oh well. The old spoiler was the stock wrap-around one that came with the car. It was made of rubber and had some really bad stress cracks, so repainting it would be impossible and pointless.
Also, the hood of the car had some really bad rust. I sanded it down nice, and did the same procedure as the trunk. The end result on the hood was bit blotchy, but again, it'll at least stop the rusting. Tide me over until I can afford to paint it right.

Still some rust on the roof of the car, can't see it because I only used a camera phone, but that will be taken care of soon. I also plan on yanking off that front bumper plate and puddying in the holes, and painting the front bumper as well. I bought the car from a guy in Virginia, where they require front license plates. They don't require them here. :P
Question for today:
I know I saw something somewhere before about the hide-away headlights being limited with thin ultrabright headlights instead of the huge things that are in it now. Is this achieved by simply limiting how far the headlights can come up and the motor will kick off after hitting the limiter, or is it more involved than that?
