I have been waiting 2 years to get this baby painted. I started building this car the weekend I turned 16 and now I will be turning 18 this weekend and I finally was able to have it painted. Tell me what you think. Also, the rims have been on it only like a month. Before it was the factory trans-am rims. What does everyone think?

Looks Great! Is that black or some other shade. Really like the before and after pictures so we can see the progress. Good Job!

no it hasn't... are you supposed to wet sand when it is base coat/clear coat?
Supreme Member
you can wet sand then buff it for a perfect finish, but if your car already looks great I wouldn't unless you already have experience doing it.
I love that color
looks very nice! way to go

IMHO, wetsanding that paintjob then buffing would make it pop. Also, because there is a little bugs or something in the paint on the hood.Originally Posted by Tmic87TPI

What you have to be careful for is that you laid down enough clear to actually sand. Even 1500 or 2000 grit will bite into the base if your clear is really thin.
Also, if you do do it here are some pointers:
-Sand 1 direction on each panel. No criss cross no swirls.
-Make SURE to keep the paper and the surface wet
-wait till a week or two at least to let the paint harden some.
-Use the palm of your hand only. Fingers will leave deep scratches.
-Sand up to, but NOT OVER the edges. Even this fine grit will go down to the primer if you do the edge.

Personally, I woulda left the stock wheels, instead of those.

That's almost the color I went with but I didn't want to go through the headache of a color change in all the jambs and corners ;-p Looks awesome...I love that color.

I would seriously like to do that color, but I wouldn't wake to steal your thunder.

That's why i'm glad I bought a gunmetal metalic bird. I will be painting it charcoal of course. Close enough not to be too big of a difference.Originally Posted by CreepingDeath94
