I have white formula rims on my car i may be willing to sell for a good price but i need to find a black GTA rim first. if you want pics i can send them.
Re: new project!
i dont really have a use for new rims...im planning on fixing up my rims when i get a chance, repainting the black and re-finishing the polished aluminum....too bad its a daily driver lol

hey matt i know a guy selling 16x8 formula wheels. Has them on his ebay store. Not perfect but workable and possibly pretty cheap i'm not sure how much for them. strip the clear and clean them up they will look pretty good except for the mild curb rash/ding on the one wheel

Re: new project!
they are ok. they could use some work but if the price is right, they may be worth it. strip the clear and smooth out the curb rash, reclear and it should look good again

Re: new project!
ya, my rims were tinted orange and all pitted and after alot of wheel cleaner and scrubbing using an sos pad, they slowly but shurely came clean. They used to make my car look like crap cause they were so nasty looking but now deffinetly do give the car some justice. Now i just need to get the car painted lol

TADailyDriver...is your price with tires? also...any idea on shipping cost to ga? i gotta lead on a set of black gta wheels right now here local that i might pick up...i'm not really certain which would look better on this car right now...and those wheels being white will not exactly work for me totally as i'm thinking this car will not end up white...which means i'd have a lot of work ahead of myself to get them stripped and whatnot...

Re: new project!
ah...i gotchya. i'm planning to fix the collision damage yes, but it's not very high on the priorities right now. i'm wanting to just get everything running correctly and get some suspension upgrades and wheels/tires under it's belt...then i'll start looking at getting it looking better.
just out of curiousity...what do you guys think about the hood? i'm kinda digging the stock flat hood, not many people have a plain jane hood on these cars...normally it's a GTA, TA, Powerbulge or aftermarket...think i could make this stock flat hood look good or should i just go straight for the powerbulge?

Re: new project!
it's in OK shape. just a lot of little stuff to take care of. it's gonna need new carpet for sure...not sure i wanna keep the blue...i keep finding really good deals on fourthgen seats too...so i'm not sure i wanna keep the blue. we'll see though. the sun has played a serious tole on this interior too....all the plastics are faded badly and whatnot. the guy i bought it from had a serious system in it before and i need to pull all the wires and stuff out yet and see what i can see.

Re: new project!
i got a lot done yesterday.
-pulled the steering box off and found a nasty crack on the frame rail. welded said crack
-added all the extra little braces going from k-member and frame rail
-added iroc steering box
-added larger RS sway bar and poly endlinks (it's absolutely amazing how tiny the early sway bars were!)
-i installed an electric fan, but i think i fried the motor, so i slapped the clutch fan back on. getting a set of dual fans for it this week i believe.
i'm doing a tune up on it this afternoon. we'll see how that works out!

Re: new project!
Nice looking project you have there. Keep it looking trimmed down. I kinda like the flat hood and no spoiler look.
Looks like the car has a pretty decent paint job on it.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
How much did you get the car for?

Re: new project!
I have a fender and an ok front bumper (not good for paint but will get you by) from my 84.

You can have them both for 20+ shipping if its worth it to you. Or if you want to pick them up thats ok.

Re: new project!
what's wrong with the bumper cover? it looks in ok shape...
kristin and i got a TON done today as far as the interior goes. we stripped it completely out, and i got to work on getting the radio working again while she worked on cleaning interior pieces. she's got this great OCD that just makes her wanna clean. it was an amazing day getting to hang with her and work on this car. the car definitely needs new carpet and all the rear hatch plastics are sun beaten badly. the seats could probably use new covers as they're starting to come apart due to sun damage. but it's nice to ride around in a clean car again. all four speakers were wired up through the amps that the PO kept, so i had to figure out how to salvage the hacked up stereo harness. got that stuff working well though now. i'm gonna need to find an 82-84 in the boneyards though as there's alot of little trim pieces that are year specific that need replacing badly. i'll try to get some pics of the interior cleaned up soon.

Re: new project!
so i need to get a digi camera badly. my mom's crapped out and my dad "spent too much on his to let ANYone mess with it"...i'm 23 y/o and relatively responsible, you'd think he'd let me use his camera...eh, whatever...end rant, lol!
so i did get a little more progress on it yesterday. we slapped in my 3.45 posi disc 9 bolt rear yesterday. i need to get a new prop valve and master cylinder to get the full effects of the additional braking. for whatever reason, when i blead the brakes yesterdy, barely anything came out of the bleeder valve...i'm thinking the stock 84 prop valve is shot. anyone know what the story is on the threads for earlier and later years for the brakes? i know they're supposedly different...but i don't know what all has been done on this car. it might have an aftermarket prop valve in it. i've never seen one like this, it's cast aluminum instead of machined stock...anyone know about the early thirdgen brakes?
