Good score! Is it a 350 car? What condition is the interior in? $1700 running and looking can't be beat. What are your plans for it?

it is a 350tpi motor. I plan on keeping it pretty much stock. And i will try not to get stung by the modification bug. well here is a 1 week old pic of the cars new rims.

New rims and "I-won't-get-stung...".

Nice choice with the rims. Looks really good!

Now how about that MAF?

Re: just picked up this bird for 1,700 good shape

What is the story behind it? Was the previous going through a divorce, owed taxes, etc? I know times are tough but I have not seen any car that runs, has no major body or paint damage, and has any popularity for that cheap. I just picked up a '89 blk/blk 350 t-top car on Ebay for $2800 and I thought I did pretty good.

The wheels... I think the Formula ones looked better. Of course nothing beats GTA cross lace wheels on a GTA. Just my .02

Re: just picked up this bird for 1,700 good shape

to jump on all your questions. yes according to the vin it is a GTA. as for the rims they came off my 87 formula I just sold and decided they would look better then the rims that came with the car when i bought it and I like the way they look... the man i bought the car from had the price set at 2,000 but i did some talking showing him the little minor problems and had it for 1,700. I think he just had to pay some things off. but the car really drives smooth.

Wicked Deal!! What were the minor flaws that saved you another $300. I gotta show this to a guy I work with who just paid $2800 for an 82' that should be a part out.

that's gotta be one of the best deals ever.

normally i prefer GTA wheels but for some reason, i think the formy wheels look just fine.

the flaws are what most third gen all have. headlights need alittle help going up.[all it needs is a headlight rebulid get for 20 bucks} AC blows warm[no leaks just need a recharge]. T-tops drips alittle on the driver side[no surprise there] strut tower with little spots of rust.[already bought por-15 for that] every electronic component works. cruise control, power locks, powerwindow,cd player, trunk motor, power seats,

Re: just picked up this bird for 1,700 good shape

Good score man... and i thought I got a good deal on mine...

I picked up my 87' GTA for $2000 when i bought it....and it wasn't even running...the guy originally wanted around $3000 for it...but i showed up at his door with $2G in bills and he said arg fine..

I reminded him that it's been sitting for 6 years in his driveway and it probably wouldn't start up.

All I had to work with was "It ran great before i parked it!"....it was such a blind and crazy purchase.

In the end tho it was worth it...only needed a new fuel pump.
