Picked this one up today. 58k on rebuilt 350. Got it for $3400, but I am happy with this one. Cleaned it as soon as I got home.

Re: my new gta

Looks like a very nice car.

If you plan on doing any modifications to it this will be a good place to find out what works and what does not. What stores to go to and what stores to avoid. The Trans Am GTA Source Page is another good information source for these cars.

I bought mine brand new in 1989 for a lot more than $3400. I am just about finished completely restoring it.

Good luck with future modifications and enjoy the ride.

Lumbar seats were torn and no good. Seats out of a 92 Camaro.

I know someone where I live who was parting out a GTA and is selling GTA seats. At least he was about a month ago.

Either that, or some 4th gen camaro or TA seats. the TA seats will match the original ultima seats. They are pretty much exactly the same.

Nah, I like the grey for now. Especially since it's free. I'm most likely gonna get 4th gen down the road anyway.

Just make sure to keep the original GTA seats, if you decide to sell the car down the road it might make it worth more. They can always be reupholstered by a good shop.

I'd rather buy 4th gen seats down the road then paying that much for re upholstering them.

What I meant was to keep them stored in a shed or something, don't throw them away. Later if you decide to sell the car the next owner may be willing to redo them.

Re: my new gta

Should take a picture of the "after" shots like you did the "befores", other than the wing replaced with what looks to be the center section of a camaro spoiler, I don't know whatelse you did exterior wise. Also, is the car lowered? In the before shot from the side it looks lower than stock.

I had done that but theres a 5 picture limit. Nothing else was done with exterior other that the hatch swap, since the spoiler was ****ed up, and the one from my camaro was already tinted. Car is lowered but they cut the springs, so I'm gonna be putting coil overs in asap.

Re: my new gta

Lose that spoiler (at least find a pedestal-style one off a Firebird) and that will look nice. Interior is a big improvement

The spoiler is just to cover the holes for now. When I get the body work and paint done it will be removed completely. i think all firebird spoiler look no good. Thats my opinion though.

As far as interior, It's gonna get a 4th gen center console, new dashpad, new headliner and weatherstripping and it's done.

I've actually been thinking of doing a spoiler simular to that but done more like the second gen style, looks like a great car though.

thats EXACTLY what i want. but i need the side pieces. I might ask the body shop if they could do them up when i get it repainted.

if not it might just come off and ill ask them to fill the holes.

Just get one of those 5" Camaro spoilers? Should mount right up. Chime in if you know it won't ... I don't want to lead someone down the wrong path.

Only problem is it will not contour to the tail lights like it does on the Camaro. If that's the look you're going for, it shouldn't look too bad. Here's a shorter spoiler of the same style on a Firebird:

The Firebird above obviously REALLY wants to be an IROC.

Speaking of which, get that Camaro shifter **** out of that GTA!

Seats = OK in a pinch. Shifter **** = Identity crisis for your car.

You proved it yourself on the first part. I use both because I like both. It goes in and out.

If I were to do it I wouldn't use a camaro one, I would do it myself, owning a Fiero has tought me to be good with fiberglass.

It's from a 92 so it's good quality. I'm not sure if they're the same material all years, but it definately feels reliable unlike the wrap around that was on it. Plus its wayyy lighter then that 50 lb spoiler.

Installed my center console from a WS6. Didn't come with shift boot, so I made my own.

Dude, that's pretty savvy on the shifter boot.

I'm not going to say whether I like it or not, but I love the creativity.
