This thread makes me sad. I wish I still had my '87 GTA.
Anyone wanna trade for a 4th gen 3.8 powered firebird??

Re: Post your firebird pics

Only good pic of the '87 since I had lost it before I had internet.
The 83 needs work to be anywhere near nice.

Pop ups needs wiring and another motor, dents on the door and 1/4 panel and the hood had hail damage. Would take alot of work to get it to look nice.
Plus it was a v6 car so it'll need more work to throw a v8 in it.

Re: Post your firebird pics
Thanks. Its all original. When I bought it, it had an aftermarket alarm in it. I pulled that out and replaced the lower dash panel under the steering wheel and the radio bezel with NOS pieces because they had been drilled. The only thing under the hood that is not original is the alternator.

So, here comes my car...I always claim I have it for scaring little boys (jap-drivers)...they seem to be offended when beaten by a 21-year old girl in a standard (soon to be nitrous) "old yankee"...lol, love it!
race ´08

heard she stood in a barn, and talked the owner to sell it to me. here´s the first wiew I had of her;

with the ´09 wheels...

tried her on the track (oh, we where terrible slow!)

fell free to visit www.garaget.org/neckwomen_88 for more info about the car...

Re: Post your firebird pics
Here is my '86 Trans Am. I am currently in the process of installing a 305 TPI from a '91 T/A which has been upgraded with an LT1 cam and headers. It has the WS6 package and a newly rebuilt 700R4. The wheels in the pic have been sold. I have the stock T/A wheels on my Camaro right now but they will be going back to the 'Bird once its running.

Old pics I have from about 2 years ago, only ones I can find at the moment. 61K miles, I'm the second owner. Sharp eyes will see under drives pulleys, Edelbrock waterpump, and SLP cold air. Other than that all original, even have the original documents 9/87 build date. I just cruise in it really..

Re: Post your firebird pics
Wow, some really, really nice cars. BigBadGta, I don't know if I've ever seen a prettier third gen. And kevin89formula, that thing is just wicked.
I've got the black formula on pg 2 with the BMW 18" rims. Figured I'd toss in a photo of what I've been up to since the last post. Here's the engine last Saturday as I was wrapping up getting it all back together. Should be in this weekend, along with the new T56.

The whole thread on my build is up here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/memb...engineers.html
Should be making great leaps and bounds this weekend, stay tuned!

Re: Post your firebird pics
My 1991 Formula 350 Show N Go. It is 1 of only 1,197 with the L98 Performance Package. There are bolt-on only mods are from SLP/ Edelbrock/ MSD/ Hotchkis/ BORLA/ Alston Racing and more. Currently has 58,000 miles and still has the original Bright Red finish. Exterior mods are 1991-92 GTA tail lamps and molded Red Firebird on the nose from a 1993 Firebird. The car was featured in High-Tech Performance magazine and currently has run a best 1/4 of 13.79 @ 100 mph.

Once I get done here at school (graduate in may) I plan to restore the wheels, fresh tires, and rebuild the front/rear suspension (new bushings and the like), have a NOS set of SLP headers and a new cat for it also.. Other than that Im just going to keep it as clean as I can and have fun with it, its my cruiser I got my Nova for going fast and beating on lol

Re: Post your firebird pics
[quote=maks10;4459773]I bought them from Classic Industries about 15 years ago for $500.00 for the entire set. They are now being offered again in their latest catalog only now they are $700.00. When I compared them to the GM wheel, they were identical except for a small GM emblem stamped into the rear hub. I used the chrome center caps and black WS6 centers and used chrome lug nut covers from a 1993-95 Bonneville because they have a longer length than stock. They are a BITCH to clean because EACH wheel has 80 openings X 4. That's 320 holes that need to cleaned from the brake dust after every car show or drag race.

Yeah, I am running spacers at all 4 corners. I disagree though, I think the car looks much cleaner without pipes breaking the body lines anywhere. Just my opinion though.
Thanks for the compliment.

I bought the seats from www.arizenracingsports.com
They make a great product, we're friendly and easy to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Couldnt be happier with them and can't wait to get a cage in the car so I can use a harness
