Need help with pricing

Hello everyone, I am new to this site as well as a new firebird owner.
I recently just came back from deployment and needed a new vehicle and I stumbled across my current car which is a 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA. It is in near perfect condition(9-10) with only 77,xxx miles. I do love the car but I honestly think a collector or someone who would enjoy much more than me deserves to have it. Only problem is everywhere I take it the car dealers low ball me like hell (what else is new). I was just wondering if someone who knows a lot about these car could me out what this car is worth. It has A/C, new tires, original radio(I see a lot of these with CD players) also I still have the original manual. Thank you for any help!

All the pics are in my gallery because I can't post them all on the thread.

I will be happy to take more pictures and answer any questions.

Pictures of the interior, engine bay and underbody will help.

From what I see from the picture and brief info, looks like a nice $4500-$6000 GTA to me.

Re: Need help with pricing

To be honest if I was in the market for a GTA and Saw this for $5500-$6500 I would say the price is fair.

dealers will give you nothing for it, if you are looking to sell it, best bet would be to sell privately. Here would be a good start, then there is always ebay, to at the very least get it out there and maybe somebody will make an offer.

car looks very nice. But we need more pics

Re: Need help with pricing

Trying to trade ANYTHING at the dealer will be a lost cause! I dont care if you are walking in there with a 2010 Porsche twin turbo, they will offer you a WHOLESALE price for the car--same will be said for your TransAm. Your car looks mint. Personally I would keep it as a summer car and buy another car to use as a daily driver.

However, if you are intent on selling it I would sell it privately (craigslist, ebay etc). Dont be impatient and trade it in--you are giving away thousands of dollars to the dealer who will turn around and sell that thing for $8000.

Re: Need help with pricing

I just bought an '88 GTA in very similar mileage and condition for just over four grand. Like it or not, these cars really haven't begun to regain their value yet. Hang on to it for a few years and it might be worth more, but they really aren't selling for much right now. It doesn't help that nobody seems to have any money laying around right now either.

I'd say if you plan on selling it, the most you should hope for is about 5500. Any more than that and you'll be sitting on it for a real long time.
