well the GTA was supposed to be a euro spec type car (BMW rims and paddle mirrors) so that kinda makes sense.

Not sure on Dayton, really wanting to go to Myrtle Beach for F body beach bash and I doubt I can afford to do both by time I get the rear I want and get it in the car.

 

I Am considering the Woodward dream cruise this year too
I am only going to Dayton for the cruise so I will only spend on gas. maybe I will register too. then drive back that evening. only hour drive

the raised white letters look interesting! very stock car but yet modern looking like a 3rd gen

I had it all black with black wall tires and everything then one day at the race track I seen the white letters on a few cars and was like hmmmm wander what that would look like on my bird. At first I just stenciled the letters on with white spray paint and fell in love so I got real white letters and they just define the car. Who knew that something little like that could define the car lol :P

 

Its very nice and distinctive and yet very attractive. I wish I could have white letters for my tire size or the original VR50s.

 

Try stenciling your own. If you like it keep it, if not just wash it off.

 

I dont think I have the patience. plus I would want the outline white letter

I am 44 and married with kids. My car goes to my 12 yr old Son when I pass away. I wont let him have it till then. maybe he will be mature enuf by then.
I love having a 305 with a better cam and gears and mixer. I will run 0-60 neck and neck with most stock 350 3rd gens. I think it is one of the best kept secrets

Not really living the dream as much as I think I am! That 305 is a TANK! You're a great Dad, when I was 16, my Dad ALLOWED me drive the '84 Corolla...with no reverse! I'm the family Marine and my lil bro is the family Fed. He has a 40th Anv Mustang GT sitting in Pop's garage with next to no miles on it. He's in NY and travels via train or subway (He drives Dad's Camery to the gym!). My car SOUNDS faster than it is!

simple pic of the old gal, the paint is atleast 12 years old. 180,000kms... with lots of new parts.

 

also used a clay bar and polish and wax every year. the spray on wax i find works well with a chamois

well. its good that you have interest in your bird my Dad worked for GM. and I was an only kid. I had a 83 black camaro V6 as my 1st car, and i had an 86 TA starting my Jr year in HS. got rid of it a year later due to insurance issues with mom (i never had a ticket or wreck then). i bought the current beast 2 years ago when I missed the 86 bad. much faster than the old TA and sounds meaner too! My son will drive my CRV or our accord when he is old enuf. daughter drives a nissan cube. My next daily car will be a Hyundai Genesis Coupe. black of course.... that wont be till son is secure in college

 

The show was Mega Speed up here in Toronto. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend for it, being that it was in early march yet I drove it home with the roof off and windows down And much appriciated, thanks

I find most people in general around here don't even know what it is let alone what might be under the hood. So far this year (despite the fact that it says Trans Am on every side of my car) A teenager asked me if it's a Corvette and a woman asked me if it's a Ferrari

 

IMissMy86TA - No, you ARE a great Dad. I love the guy to death but, my Dad (He worked for Bell back in the day...we always had cool phones on the wall!) sold the old beat up '74 Nova, not too long before I turned 16...just couldn't hold on to it...it wasn't the right thing to do "financially" he needed the $300 to put towards a Japanese car during the initial J-pan car craz! But I'm not one to talk, my ex-girlfriend has a loaded-out, black leather, nav, Sat radio, dual sunroof, power everything, heated seats, AWD, Techno Orange 2011 Kia Sportage. I took that thing off roading on the beach, snowbarding, hunting and in the desert. For $30k, the thing is awesome! Especially with the 100K, 10yr zero deductible wannety. But, she saw me blasting around the beach in the Bird, right when I got it for $500, and still wanted to trade! You can't go wrong with that Hyundai Genesis Coupe, I looked into it, they're not cheap. Its still a ton of performance for the price. Downside is I'm sure you'll be funding the North Korean Nuclear program! In reality, Kia and Hyundai are #1 in sales this year.


lb9 GTA - Someone out here is rock'n a old Pantera, I see it flying around all over the place. I ended up next to it at a light (the car is sweet) and the chick in my passenger seat, was like "Look at that POS." I returned with "Yes, Honey...now get your feet off the dash." LOL! Those Pantera's are bad-a*s.

If I were you... on those cross-laces I would put the lug covers. that's just me.. but the chrome lugs kinda miss the mark IMO only.

Man that looks like my 86 I had in 86-87! I like the non-glossy spoiler!
here is my original 86 back in the day... everyone thought it was cool without the tape stripe on the bottom... then the GTAs came out and they all were missing the stripe

 

Thanks i wish it was in good condition...its the rubber spoiler....i like it better than the fiberglass one ,,,but i doubt i can find a rubber one i good conditon... as far as the strips sometimes i feel like putting them back on with the original rims. i imagine it would look better no wwith the upgraded paint and lowered stance.

 

seeing them with the strip is pretty rare! but i think the all black looks pretty BA
and I like the original rims better. I would of kept these formulas silver IF I had a black or gray interior and badges. I wanted my GTA to look like my old TA which I think looked better.

 

Not quite as nice as all the other cars in here but hey, it is my dd and a work in progress
