How many miles on that bird?

The tint is only on in the last two pictures. I just had it done and I feel it really completes the look of the car! Thank you. I'll snap another couple pics of the tint after work. Only other thing I wanna do exterior wise is put some black C6 or Z06 rims on my car. And maybe lower it another inch. If I told you there was 122,000 miles on the car would you believe me?
And that 91 GTA looks fantastic!

Doesn't it though? How you guys get that shine level? any wet sanding or polishing?Originally Posted by Mike92Firebird

I have the factory paint and as most have a bit of orange peel. wondering how to do it without trashing the paint!

Yes, sadly there really is that many miles on it. Haha.
But when I first got the car, the paint on the Hood and roof was in really rough shape. I'm talking no shine and covered in polkadots. I ended up wet sanding the living hell of it. Using a compound. And then re-buffing, polishing, and waxing it. The rest of the car's shine really came to life after giving it a good clay bar treatment. Here's some pics to see how the paint looks now.

Here's a bad example of how it first looked

I need that shine. Mine is shiny but really need to buff it out!
sigh. I am worried I will do it wrong and burn the paint.

I love your car from the pics I've seen on the forum.
But I definitely understand what you mean about burning the paint. It can be very easy to do that, especially with an electronic buffer. Have you thought about letting a detail shop do it? I did mine on my own but that's because I used to detail cars for my friends and whatnot. With the right waxes/polishes you'd be surprised the improvement you can get in your paint. Have you clay bar-ed the car lately?

I have not clay bared it yet. I have only hand waxed. I want to get rid of some orange peel and have a nice smooth finish. I spoke with Zeibart detailing and they say they dont get much into that but maybe I dont care abt the orange peel.. no.. i do.. darn it. I hear that wet-sanding will get rid of it but scared to take a high grain pad to it.. sigh.

The headliner will also be done in gray suede.I painted my interior black, have black carpet, black deluxe door panels with gray suede inserts and ebony cloth seats from a 99 Formula. I haven't got around to putting in the driver seat yet.

Yeah, you're right about that my Grand Prix has tan leather which i hate but I got used to it. I think of a luxury car when I think of tan interiors not a 3rd gen.
