I had planned on Alston "inner" SFCs for my car (T-top). Just curious what these DID and DID NOT do for you compared to your hopes and expectations (understanding that this is a convertible, which adds some additional challenges).
I think they were Alston style inner that i welded on. they did help a little, maybe i had higher expectations that they would work as well as the outters i liked to use back in the day.

Spohn make outers specifically for the Verts. Some on TGO have used both. I bet that would really get the Unibody closer to modern rigidity!
Haven't had a lot of time to drive it this year, plus the old cats rattling and the weird front suspension pop and clunk when turning have really kept me out of it. Thanks to "gotopless", the
"new" cats came the otherday, so there's 1 fix. Have bilstein struts for the front and new frontend rebuild parts, now i just need the time!

Nice looking Dual Cat setup, TTOP350 ! What brand? :Like N10 or even better?
They are the original AC brand GM used for RPO code N10, but since these don't have the after cats Y pipe part, they are probably over the counter replacements or even maybe for the ZZ crate motor kit for Fbody.

the 90's LT5 is a wonderful engine in many respects including its looks... i have a ~12K mile '90 ZR-1 and it is quite nice... the engine can have some quirks with the complexity of the injectors, induction system control, starter, etc... also the ECMs are reliable and your typical chip burning, but spare ECMs are pricey
When you find a nos bumper without front plate holes drilled, you buy it.
Pretty nice surprise to find 2 more dirty but nos parts inside the bumper cover.. score
Well, this got pushed to the front burner. My daughter just unexpectedly won little miss in town sooo... new top, fix A/C, paint spoiler, bumpers, fix dents, and other small random things. Plus, 17" wheels. It'll be her car some day

18" Ronals you meant to say, right.....lol. your pal, Steve Roberts (new FB name)
Had a little fun in the shop yesterday.
Along with wheel swaps, i put the factory crank pulley on so the charging system would be happier during this next yrs upcoming parade duties. Just wish i was further along with it, but it's so much fun to drive as is.
Original gators Had to get a reminder of what the original gatorbacks looked like Borrowed a set of nice 16" repops from a friend. Now if he'll sell me a set from his hoard
Rare shots with top up and me not driving. Wife and kids with little miss on their way to a parade. Noticed a bulb out on the 3rd brake light. Opened a can of worms with the loose bracket setup Back window is falling out, needs a new top buut
Did the Formula350 come with ZR rated tires or VR rated? I still have the set of VR rated gatorbacks dated 1988 he in St. Louis. I didn't know they ever remade the ZR 245/50/16s

89 was the 1st year for ZR, my other 89 350 had them as well.
these are original wheels and tires from a 91 formula
The can of worms Sealed Empty can New seal Will need to mod the brackets slightly so its not pulling down so hard. Simple fix. New bulbs are on the way, every replacement I've seen are 2 tall or don't fit right. GE 891 looks to be the correct style, shape and size of the originals
There are many great, higher-end Firebird trims on the site. I have a GTA that's in great shape..
But if I could pick one Firebird to own, outside of an '89 TTA, this one might be it. Formulas have always been my favorite trim level. I prefer the sleeker look without the ground effects. It makes a beautiful convertible.
Nice! Where'd you find that top? Is it black? Looks blue in the pics.
I bought the top from a guy on E-bay over 15 years ago, (trying to find out exactly who so I can get more tops).
The top is blue, my car had a blue top from ASC. One of 2 blue top formula 350s and the only one left according to John Z.
Would love to do a ground up resto on this car but then I wouldn't want to drive it. It's such a nice cruiser
Saw the 9bolt torson diffs were on sale for 100bux so I grabbed a couple from Amazon. Went back for a couple more but they were sold out.
This car will get one and i have another spare 9bolt that I'll be working on. It'll get a new diff and the set of 9bolt 3.70 GM gears i have for it.
