Yet another Daytona Trans am (Round 2)
This is my second Daytona. My first was a late night eBay win for $1000 that turned out to be hell on wheels for all the wrong reasons. This one is a LG4/T5 car with "no rust". I am refreshing the car to my standards. Not trying to do anything crazy but clean it up really well. Which can be done really cheap once you know what you are doing. The car is really stock. Haven't found any real mods yet.

The Start
Was just gonna clean it up but I cant ever leave stuff alone. L69 intake for mock up
Took the top end apart to inspect for sludge etc
Pretty dang clean for 100k miles
Has become A almost Necessity to redo everything. A lot of good paints out there that lay down really easy, and are tough. This is my personal standard.
How it sits right now. Not keeping the chrome covers those are just my paint covers. Cleaned the block and heads the best I could then hit them with some black engine Paint. The Duel snorkel will be white just like the Cap. Valve covers will be white with Daytona logos. Painted the engine bay, and restored and Ac delete box. New black wire loom over the harness.

Let the Birds have some Quality time Before I got back to work
New OEM brakes (Did I mention I'm sick of stock brakes????) Got a good deal on a set of slightly used Koni yellows, and rear DSE 2in drop springs.
Right After a bit of paint
New undercoat
front stock hight
Rear DSE 2in drop springs on 15x7 Aeros
Found the Build sheet. 373 car!
Gotta change it up a bit. Bean counters at Gm should have let something like this slide.
I like to bed liner the inside of all my cars.

Over a year later still working on this one. Got the new carpet in and it fits horrid. Had to let it rest for a solid 2 weeks for it to relax. Almost all interior panels restored.

And I thought I was the only one with a spray paint addiction! It is looking super sweet and I really like you taking the white to a new level with the valve covers and air cleaner. I am a big fan of using a "color theme" throughout the resto process.
I also paint all my fasteners before I reinstall the parts.

Re: Yet another Daytona Trans am (Round 2)
Super jealous about your radio score. I’ve been looking for that style radio for years to finish my 1984 TA restoration and am having no luck. I actually just bought one from Hawks but they couldn’t test it for me. When I installed it in my car I found out it didn’t have the red display so sending back for a refund.
Does your radio have a model number on it anywhere? If so can you send me a picture for reference. Would help when I look at radios for sale that aren’t working.

I did not receive it back yet from the restoration shop. I'll let you know

Had to move the car to my new place. Still not done and doesn't run. But look at the darn thing. Springs did not set till it was home.
