Questioning the worth of a car?

I was with a friend who was trying to fix his 76 Oldsmobile/Cutlas, when I saw this Camaro. Immediately I was interested. Then my friend saw a "For Sale" sign. He was asking $4,800. I will give you the specks on the car:

86 Camaro in excellent condition
He had just replaced the engine, had a total of 16,000 miles on
it. The engine was an Eldelbrock 305.
This Car also has Catbacks and Headers/all Edelbrock equip.
Stickshift
The Car had a total of 116,000 miles
Only three owners
New Seats

Please, all of you out there, tell me what you would pay for a car with the same specks. Thanks!

I think you can find a better deal someplace else.

You could probably find a newer Iroc with a TPI 350 for that much.

Check it out, ask for reciepts, it may still be worth looking into, it might be on the high-side for a reason. If its just a run-of-the-mill 305 I'd say pass.

It didn't appear to be the run of the mill 305. It was as I mentioned: an Edelbrock. He had done some work with the car putting in catbacks and headers, as well as new seats and a cd player. I hope to bring him down to $3,800.
What do you think?

What does "an edelbrock" mean? Better clarify because it makes a big difference if a simple edelbrock carb is sitting atop the stock intake vs if it's sporting edelbrock heads, matched cam, intake, and carb. Still not worth the money IMHO but depends what zip code your in as well I suppose.
