OK, I went to a local car show in PF today, only 3 3rd Gens there. I didn't show, but somehow got parked with in it. It's not hard to find, right on rt.4 . It's every Sat. So we need to set up a date that we can all meet there, to show the F Bods off.

for pics of the show, check out the appearance board post of mine. I took like 90 pics, but only posted like 19.

whats the date

That sounds like a great idea. What date or dates are you trying to go?

btw

The Hideout is sponsoring an F-Body Gathering & Dyno Day on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at Woodbridge Dynotech. After the festivities at Woodbridge Dynotech, we'll be caravaning to Manassas, VA to the Burger King to hang out with the locals.

This event is open to all F-Body owners regardless of club affiliation.

We'd like to borrow EFA's slogan - Grill'n and Chill'n! <biggrin.gif>

Here are the highlights:

When - Saturday, June 22nd, 2002
From 11am - 8pm.

All those who will be dynoing will need to show up at 8am! Those who will be dynoing will be on a first to respond first serve basis. I'll be tallying up the attendees for those who will be chosen to dyno on this thread as well. I'll just edit this initial post with all those who'll be dynoing (up to 12).

Where - Woodbridge Dynotech 13016 Bristersburg Road, Midland, VA 22728
(540) 752-1600

I dont know who they are but is there anyplace on the md. side of the potomac to dyno a car

i havent had a chance to look at different places that you can get dyno testing done. I want to get mine. There is a place called EIP Tuning in Westminster that does dyno testing. Its sort of like import world. There are cars from there at captial now and then. I might have to suck it up and go there. Its not far from me.

Well, it's goin to take sometime so everyone can be sure to make it if they can. I'd say one Sat in July, would that be good, we can pick a date from there. Be sure to let others on the boards know too. It'd be nice to get a good turn out.

Where is the location in glen burnie for the dyno runs. It would be cool if we could do the dyno runs and the car show the same weekend.

It's in Prince Frederick, basically right in the middle. It's right on the side of RT 4 which runs right down the county. So you couldn't miss it once you get on RT 4.

sounds like we should hit up the show in prince frederick. the dynow pull place in GB is right off of ritchie highway. i dont know how farmiliar you are with the area, but its right by the Glen Burnie Transmission shop. its between there and the court house. i dont know the address. its cool, cause if anyone needs exhaust work done, they can get it done right next door at a place called "tony's" he does alot of fbody stuff. we should hit the dyno on sat, after we do the show on fri. night. they do a lot of work with stangs though, so we might have to deal with a lot of ******.

Twistopher - I'd accompany you to the rice shop for some dyno runs if it's a decent place. Only about an hour drive for me, although the GB place is probably closer.

Mark - I'd definately consider coming down to check out all the rides. Mine isn't worth showing at the moment, especially since it's in various states of disassembly depending on the week

The DYNO is off of Crain Hwy, just south of GB Autos. It's in a small industrial park next to Brown's Honda. Look for the sign for Clauss's Liquor, that's it. There's a bunch of dyno's around here!

BTW - I might show up

A guy from the Tri State Camaro club just emailed me, said he will be coming, I told him to bring some friends if they have 3rd Gens, looks like we'll have a nice turnout.

I just thought we could go to a near by place and do a group burnout, and get it on video., Sound good guys?

They do dyno testing at the liquor store? Why do I see this as a bad combination... lol

The machine shop that built up my short block (Charlie's Machine Shop) is in that same area. There are a bunch of auto-type shops there and the next park down the street. Charlie was a good guy to deal with and was happy to work on a SBC instead of the F*rd's he usually works on (gets business from ELD).

July 27th? I think I can make it, nothing planned so far. Just make sure you remind me (well, this board) so I don't forget. I just came back from the National F-body.org Event in Memphis. We rented the track for 3 days of road-racing, drag-racing, auto-x, and a car show, plus excursions to Beale Street, Hooters, and other venues. It's nice having the power to keep up or even pass the 4th-gens, better handling, and brakes as capable (just w/out ABS). The tranny lost 4th gear, so I had to drive the 900 miles back home in 3rd, although I had the TCC locked up to help out some. The new engine performed wonderfully, the road-race tires stuck like glue, but my 6-year-old Drag Radials still aren't hooking. I have some great pix I'll put up on my webpage sometime this week...

DIRECTIONS

To find directions enter this into mapquest.com

150 Solomons Island Rd.
Prince Frederick MD 20678

This is the address to Wal-Mart which is right on RT 4 which on mapquest is labeled MD 4. Wal-mart is about 2 miles south of the Food Lion Shopping Center where the car show is, so just take off about 2 miles for your total milage. Any further help, just ask.

Doh! :(

Welp, I don't know if my car will be done in time for the show at the end of next month after all. While pulling an engine the other day I managed to break my #4 R finger, more like crushed it, the bone of the last section is in little pieces. I am going to try and see how much I can get accomplished with 1.5 hands, though. If I can't get moving on it hopefully I will just bring it out as is, not too bad...

On a side note, watch where your hands are when moving large objects from the engine bay... (Such as an engine with trans and 1/2 a D/S attached, keep fingers -away- from the U joints!)

That's what I fear, I never expected this many. That's why I planned on most of us being there at 12:00 way before the show, so it's empty and we can get spaces. Worst come to worst we can park down in that lot on the side of the shopping center you know as you round the corner past Arbys. But I think we'll be ok, since we're getting there so early, remember how much room there was that day when me and you parked, it was early, but it filled up later on.

FWIW, I probably won't be showing my car, just coming down to hang out and stuff...

Hey! I got the email... What do you guys think about me drivin 5 and a half hours to get there I dunno if I've talked myself into it yet, but I haven't been on a road trip yet this summer and this would give me a chance to meet a lot of you. My car is by no means "show quality" it needs paint and I'm in the midst of doing a lot of work to her right now and trying to decide - headers or 3.73s Maybe if I can talk my brother into bringing his Z too... Hmmmm. Well, I'll think about it, so until you hear otherwise you could count me as a maybe.

i think alot of our cars arent really show quality. Its just a gathering to meet everyone. I look forward to seeing what everyone drives regardless of condition. I think it would be awesome to get shots of all our thirdgens together...

E-mail???

If I was supposed to get an e-mail for the invite this weekend, I did not receive one. I am planning to attend, very definitely I think. I'll be in a white T/A. I'm not entering it as it needs a lot of interior work, but I'm looking forward to talking with you guys who have modded your engine so I can get some ideas of what I am going to do with mine. Right now it is bone stock (even the stereo and speakers, how torturous!)

I didn't email you cause you're not invited. J/K. I was talking about that I found another 20 people from the VA area that I emailed.
None of us will be in the show, as far as I know you have to make plans ahead of time. I know my car isn't show worthy.

Oh, and you talk about you want ideas, well I plan on ripping the engine apart late Sat. after the show maybe to do a cam swap. You're more than welcome to help.

That's a good idea, but I doubt it will work. I'm sure they want the classic muscle there like always, we'll see though, I wish I could have stopped by last Sat. to talk to the head guys.

Hey now, Stangs are cool in my book. And most 5.0 Stangs whoop are cars in stock form. I happen to own a 1990 Stang, remember that 4banger coupe that was parked by Tasty Qwick and Mr Tire. I bought it great on gas but slow as *****.

Why do ricers think it's a 6 cyl now, is it quiter? I got my exhaust leak fixed.

Ricers suck....

I'm an aero engineer so I find it completely ugly and ignorant that people put huge a$$ wings on the back of their cars and think they are fast. OR cool, either way they're not!

LOL, there is usually one ***** in the show. He has a car similar to a CRX may even be newest one, don't know. Anyways, has a carbon fiber hood, and an awesome paint job, but that's where it ends. He never has his hood popped, I wonder why? It's funny cause usually there's like BB Chevelles and the such parked next to him.
