Anybody know of a decent shop on the Richmond VA area??
Hey All,
I live in Richmond VA, very close to VCU, and was wondering if anybody knew of a good shop/garage to take one of our cars to?
I need to get some general service work done, some of which I can't do myself, and I don't wanna get screwed on the price by a dealership. I've seen a place on west broad with 2 *nice* 2nd gen camaros sitting out front, but haven't heard anything about them.
Also, I you all know of any cruise nights, or place that some of us third gens could meet up every now and then I'd be very interested.
Any ideas you guys have would help me out a lot. Thanks
P.S...........what the hell is this thing?!?!? :lala:

Do you go to VCU? I'm halfway through the 10 year plan there.
What all do you need done? I have the equpiment in my garage to do just about anything you could want done to a car. Another good place would be EFI Performance in Goochland.
RPM meets up at the Rockola Cafe on West Broad every wed. night at about 8:30 - 9. They're a 4th gen club, but most of them started out with thirdgens so I doubt they'd turn you away. As for the cruise-in's...they all ended the last weekend of October, but you can usually find a few groups hanging out on Broad St. on Fri. and Sat. nights. Then there's always the mechanicsville park and ride on the weekends as well. That's pretty easy to find. It's right off 295. If you want to take a 30 - 45 minute trip up 95 on a saturday night, you can always hit the commuter lot on Rt. 1 in Fredericksburg. Or since you're right there by 64, there's a few places in Portsmouth and Va Beach that everyone hangs out at on the weekends that are still pretty busy.

Yep i go to VCU, as of right now I am a sophomore but this might turn out to be a little longer than a 4 year program.
Anyway the car was running like crap so I was wondering where I could take it to get it looked at. I have no tools or anything down here to work on it. Turns out I just needed a major tune up. I took it to Edwards auto care down on broad st. I fugured that they would be good cause I see a 2nd gen Firebird out there all the time. I was just looking for a palce where I might want to take it in the futre.
Next thing that needs to get done is headers and eventully a new cam and all that good stuff. (None of this plans on getting done until summer)
In the future I will keep you in mind, maybe we can work something out seeing as how you have all the stuff needed. I don't know if I you want a pathetically slow camaro in the same presence of your Mustang. If not I will check out EFI.
Thanks for all the info about gatherings and such. I will be sure to check them out.
