Finally got my car running after the motor swap and would like to get a small group of us thirdgen guys to go out and cruise Ritchie sometime in the next couple of weeks. If you're in, let me know! Great chance to go shoot some videos and meet some of the local guys. ( and play with some **** )

My Formula has plates (finally!), so I can drive it (legally ) on the street. I haven't been in the area for long, so are there some "hangout" places on Ritchie Hwy on Sat. nights?
FWIW, there's a little strip mall up the road from where I live (Dorsey Rd near Arundel Hills mall, not too far from Ritchie Hwy) that has a car show on Saturday nights. It's next to a Goodyear and Texaco, and across the street from the fire department. I went by there last Saturday, and there were handful of old school muscle cars there. Might be a good opportunity for crashing? The complex has a couple restaurants.

I've been in there before. It's a classic car club. I doubt they'd like us crashing it. Ritchie is a good place to hang out on the weekends. The cops don't mess with the domestic guys, they'd rather pick on the ****

I might be up for it
FYI slow 305, that show allows any year make model car, although most of the guys there prefer the older pre 72 muscle cars. I used to work at Al's (restaurant in that plaza) several years ago. That's little league though. Just up the road a little, Sicily's Pizza (near McCormick and WB&A) has a REAL show on Saturday nights. Usually around 200 cars, pre 72 though But its still something I show up for a couple times a month. Nothing like seeing a few 8 and 9 second street legal cars

I know I've been gone for a while, but I've been hanging out on Ritche for the past few weeks. There are usually a bunch of ricers at the McDonald's up there.
My '86 is unregistered right now, for about a year probably. I killed the engine and trans, so I'm having the whole car rebuilt by a friend of a friend. He's going to build a 327, 400 trans, 3.73s, Eibach suspension, and they're going to repaint it too.
So, if I were to go, I'd need a ride. I'm sick of riding with all my ***** friends
lol, if the weather is nice this Friday I'll probably be up at Capitol, then find someone to roll to GB with.

How is RT2 anyways? Last time I was out there it was chock full of ricers with something to prove and police cruisers looking to bust someone. Has it got better??

not really same ole chit different day. i only run to about 50 then shut down but got the radar on and know where they sit at. the import guys are **** holes and ruin it for everyone. it is funny to go and cruise around and laugh at the stupid imports although some will hand you your **** fast. i live about 5 miles from there in severna park.
from what i hear some people been hanging out at I 70 park and ride but i went there once and it was dead at midnight. the other spot i heard of off of north point blvd was beat also. don't hang out at miccy'd's too long the cops will write ya tickets for loitering but there are other spots us domestics hang out like the lazy boy or the bowling alley or even over at Ann's dairy cream.

Hehe sounds about the same as I remember it.
Hmm, I live right off North Point Blvd in Sparrows Point! Maybe I missed something?
I am going to try and make it out sometime soon once I get my emissions test all squared away.

The guy who is rebuilding my car is doing it almost completely custom. I honestly don't know 80% of the specs, lol.
As for the McDonald's, I hang there a lot - and the cops never write tickets unless you're drinking/underage. If you're worried about a ticket, buy some fries. That Mickey D's would lose a lot of biz on the weekends if it weren't for those crowds. There are other places to meet up too, near Modell's, Dorsey, this bank...I forget what it's called. There is also a muscle car group that never seems to get kicked out of this one spot. Maybe one of the guys owns it. ::shrug::
It's still a fun time, but 95% is cruising/talking. I still have fun with that though, every once and a while you get to see a good race. On Saturday, my friend ran her Eclipse against a Typhoon and won, the video should be online sometime soon. Her friend followed in a Supra and taped it. I know she's in the 13s, she totalled her 12 second car (ABS failure), and took the engine, but doesn't have all the periphial mods.
It was fun to watch though!

ES87Iroc i like those flares from the 90's style i'd like to get them for mine and a GTA wing and if i can find a stock 82-84 fiberglass hood i'd be happy
hope to see you guys around. the lazyboy lot is small but all GM guys hang out there and never had probs. last time i was at miccy'd's the cop was chasing everyone out and was gonna start issueing tickets for loitering. even if we bought from miccy'd's he said eat it and leave. although he didn't give us GM guys to bad of a time just the normal BS run around.
last year one cop was pretty cool letting us hang out at the metro/kmart lot in jumpershole and he was doing burnouts with his squad car. kicker was when this firehawk (auto with 4000 stall go figure ) we all were watching and then he seen us lined up on ritchie watching and chased us all out

good old Route 2
i am on there pretty much every day of the week, either commuting to work ro crusing.
alot of imports are always out, some are nice and some are
there are still places spots to get a nice 100 mph going
just spot the cops first couple of laps, i got in a race verses an lt1 trans am, and i kept up to less than a 1/2 cars length.
i guess the guy didint like the sound of my open manifolds.

Well, it was a fun night.....until I ran out of gas on the way home. Fu****g gas gauge apparently crapped out on me. Once it got down to 1/4 tank, the needls stopped.......soooooo, I thought I had 1/4 tank of gas....sputter, sputter pop.....stall. >cry< . Oh well, as long as it's out of gas and not something wrong with the new motor I'll be happy. >>>fingers crossed, toes too

I think you are okay so long as it was that you just ran out of gas. The GM way to relieve fuel pressure for working in the system is to pull the pump fuse and let it run dry. Forget about the "burning up your injectors" old wive's tales.

was a good time. nice to meet you guys! after you guys left i did some cruising and seen this stupid *** kid in a del sol weaving in and out of traffic passing on the right turn lane and then down by ann's he hit a full size GM truck and 7 people ended up at the hospital while the del sol was totalled smashed back to the windshield.

i think it's the same guy. not too many del sol's running around and now 1 less
sad thing was it was a family with some young kids in the truck. now i'm sure the cops will be busting down hard core.

For some reason the cops go after the import/sport compact crowd more. I guess its cause most of the domestic V8 RWD guys don't have an inferiority complex that makes them drive aggressively every second they are on the road.
Most of the V8s I see up there just chill cause they don't have anything to prove. (Well, they might, but they don't act like it.)

I would have been out later that night but my starter decided to call it quits a few hours earlier that night after dinner. Having your pride and joy being towed down Ritchie Hwy on a good race night sucks There were tons of cars out, and my little 2.5L S10 just isn't suited to racing.
EDIT: Mad-Mic: The cops are all over lately. I finally got pulled over for not having a front plate. There goes $50

i got pulled over a while back right on old mill road Marc for no front plate that 50 hurt me but hey at least no points were given. i was also going 40 in the 30 (late for work, actually made me later for work ) but the cop just gave me the citation for the plate, nice guy.
now i have my beautiful front plate back on
