Help me get back into a 3rd gen -- buy my 4th gen!

Found out last weekend that a buddy of mine is selling his 3rd gen Camaro set up to autocross in the SCCA's ESP class. I drove this car about 5 years ago just after he got it, and I've secretly wondered how I could get ahold of it. This car was actually for sale around the time I was looking for a 3rd gen, but I didn't know it, and I ended up with my '90 Formula WS6 (which I sold around this time last year).

Well lo and behold my buddy who has been roadracing his Spec Miata for a couple years is going to quit autocrossing cold-turkey, so the car is up for sale!

It's an '82 Camaro with an L98 from an '89 and has a T10. It's pretty "worked" to the limit of the ESP rules -- headers, siamese intake runners, weight jackers, no AC. Power is pretty stout (have dyno #s but that's qualified) considering you can't do anything internally to the engine. It's fairly light -- 3175 -- considering it's an F-Body and you still have to run a full interior. Has the rare fiberglass hood, though. The car is pretty famous in the autocross world as it has several national championships under its hood, most recently in '02 with Sam Strano driving.

Here's a pic of me driving it for the second time:

Anyway, I'm trying to sell my '01 Camaro Z28 to clear some space. I could probably get the '82 in the meantime, but I'd rather sell the LS1 car so I'm not tempted to keep it. If anybody is looking for a really clean LS1 car or knows somebody who is looking for one, the contact info is in that ad.

My 4th gen Z28? Just a tick under 100,000 (99,8XX), really clean, paint looks great, no accidents, cloth interior, T-tops, ran a 13.000 @ 109.4 at Capitol Raceway with no mods (down to a paper air filter and stock muffler). Asking $8500.

Oh and the purple car in the first post is in my garage now.

Just an update, my '01 Z28 has been sold as of yesterday. 18-year-old kid bought it, lives in southern Maryland, so commuters beware! (I wish my mom bought me a 300 hp car when I was 18.)

Posted this in the "History/Restoration" section, this is an article from the June 1990 issue of Hot Rod that's about the '82 my friend and I bought:

http://mysite.verizon.net/patred48/blarney_hotrod.pdf

Pretty sure it was black car as there's a lot of purple overspray underneath now.

The picture in the first post is how the car looked 5 years ago, and it looked the same when I picked it up. Let me tell you, DO NOT LEAVE VINYL STICKERS ON YOUR CAR FOR FIVE+ YEARS! What a freakin' pain in the *** to get that crap off. Some of the coloring was coming off the vinyl when I was washing it, so I figured I might as well take everything off. Probably 7-8 hours of cussing and swearing later:

It's still really similar to that article from 18 years ago. Still has the fiberglass hood, has the same passenger seat, it came with those 16X9.5" Jongbloed wheels (16X9 REALS are on in the pics I posted) ... only major differences are that it has newer Koni yellows, a Sparco driver's seat, a four point rollbar and that damn purple paint. Another buddy has a '91 1LE that he races in American Iron with NASA, and it's the same color (factory paint), and even he can't escape the "Barney" references.
