Accident. Not too bad...

Well this has already been explained to the insurance company and they are working it, but since I was the one who hit him... They think its my fault. The guy pulled out in front of me while I was going about 40 and slammed on his brakes and made a partial turn down at an intersection. I tried to swerve to avoid it, but when I'm going 40 and he's at almost 0 and he's about 10 feet in front of me... Good luck. Here is the damage, but I want to know if anyone knows a good shop that I can either order the parts needed or if I can find a good deal on a repair. Because insurance doesn't always come through. First accident and not my fault, but I can't stand to see it look like that.

Re: Accident. Not too bad...

I can't even look at it when I go out to use it. Right now its my only ride otherwise I'd leave it be for a bit while I worked on it. My parents might let me use their '98 expedition for a bit.

I try to explain to them when you buy a sports car it's because you want it to look its best. In my mind a bender is not acceptable. It looks horrible on the road too because not only does it make me seem like a bad driver, but it makes it seem like I don't take care of a nice car.

I feel so bad.

Re: Accident. Not too bad...

If you were on the bigger road, like your on a 4-lane, him a 2-lane, it's his fault. You had the right of way, and he shouldn't have have pulled out until AFTER you went by.

If you already admitted fault to the cop &/or insurance company, good luck.

Rule #1....ANY accident is NEVER your fault. Do not admit to anything. Let the insurance companies battle it out.

It was on a 2 lane. In a nutshell... Guy passes me. Guy slams on his brakes. I try to swerve to avoid hitting him. We hit.

If that's my fault... I don't know what this world is coming to.

Re: Accident. Not too bad...

Sorry to see this man good luck with everything. If the insurance co. doesnt come though take the fender and bumper off and see what kind of damage is done and hit up a junk yard. You should be able to find everything you need there. Granted it wont be the same color or if you get lucky it might. Its a cheap place to find great parts. I have good luck with Crazy Rays near the Key Bridge off 695.

Here is what I did manually. Found metal under the fender and pulled on it with rope. It snapped out pretty well...

IT LIVES.

Re: Accident. Not too bad...

For some reason I don't think I'm going to be able to get the insurance company to pay for this. I took it to a different body shop and the guy says he'll do it for 1 grand. Parts & Labor included.
