Re: v6 racing
ditch the v6 before you start racing
My 85 Berlinetta with a 2.8 MPFI ran a 17.52 The v6 cars are very easy to change to v8s all you do is move the motor mounts the holes are already there in the crossmember as far as the front suspension goes its all the same i put a 406 in a 83 sport coupe very easy to do and a 9 inch out of a 77 cougar is a direct bolt in if you want to ditch the 7.5 10 bolt

Re: v6 racing
torque arm mount?
what width rear are you talking about?
pictures?
year or cougar?
I've never heard of any other car other than 4th gens using thirdgen interchangeable rears before.
(I think your thinking second generation camaro)

Re: v6 racing
The 77-79 cougar uses the same identical suspension setup as a 3rd gen minus the torque arm this rear is just a hair wider than a 7.5 10 bolt once its under the car u cant tell, the rear bolted right in the car and we used the torque arm eliminator kit from jegs it was a 85 camaro that had a 2.8 MPFI and is now a 406 small block car runs 11.20s all motor and the rear end is stock exept for the spool and 4.11s

Am I the only one that can't tell if this is just a bad joke or what?
I can tell you that nothing ford built used even a vaguely similar rear suspension.

I'm thinking bad joke

I want some pictures (ie proof)
what part number for the jegs kit?
(Still thinking this is true for a second gen not third)

2nd gens are all leaf spring cars, no joke at all go to budds creek and look for a bright red 85 sport coupe has weld wheels, red roll cage, and a dale earnhardt tag on the back, the only thing we had to change on the camaro to bolt this rear in was the driveshaft thats it you would be suprised as to what fits on a chevy from a ford

When is the Delmar strip opening? Haven't been in years, looking forward to this summer. Just got plates for my old sport coupe, hopefully have it on the road in a month or so.

You know, there's so much BS in this thread I don't even know what it's about anymore... you wanna race a 6 cylinder... I'll race you in my truck, of course it's an almost 4ton diesel, but with 900lb-ft and 4.10's behind the 36" tires it moves OK... At least much better than anything that big should ever move.
