What is this firebird worth?
Hi, I've been looking for a 1989 firebird somewhere in MD, PA, or VA. I found one that I like, but it seems overpriced. I'm 17, and I'm looking for a first car.

"Seller's Description and Comments Still offered as of 24 Feb 2012 1989 Pontiac Trans AM GTA. 5.7 Ltr. Black on black. All options available at the time. T-tops. Car has been well cared for. Mobile 1 synthetic oil used. Has been a very reliable car. I have owned this car since 1991 and only letting it go due to life changes. Non-smoker, Very clean interior. Needs nothing but a new owner and some TLC. Only asking NADA average for this classic and wont let it go for nothing. Reasonable offers considered. "

$6,000 dollars seems too much for a 190,000 mile car, plus I have to drive almost 4 hours to get there. Do you think a more reasonable price would be around $3,000? Even with that, I'll probably have to pay ~$1000-$2000 to get the engine and tranny replaced.
Thanks for your time

6 k sounds pretty high for the mileage although the car looks nice. Unless that's the one you have you heart set on, I personally would keep looking.

6,000.00 will get you into LS1/4th gen territory , that is waaay too much for a 3rd gen with 190k on the clock , you can do much better...

Nice looking car, but yes, that a lot of miles for that asking price. I paid $3k for mine with 140k and that was a touch on the high side. Both price and mileage wise - LOL.
