holley 3310 750vs
slp 1 3/4 header
performer rpm intake



t56 / 3.23s


14.2@98mph...wtf?


not sure wtf is going on but i had to dump it from 3000rpms to get that et

that combo is good for 400hpo easy and 98 mph is no 400hp

very strange my auto runs mid 13's; that being done on slicks but your combo should at least get you there? is your ignition and tuning up to snuff

i have spohn torque arm,lower control arms, sfc and running on comp t/a's...my 60ft sucked but the car should have way more power then this...

ignition is a summit hei with blaster 2 coil and digital 6 ignition



i am thinking my carb needs to be rebuilt..the secondaries may not be opening



my next run will have a flowmaster 3 inch cat back, drag radials and the car redone...if that dont do it i will be really pissed

i think my problem equates to a torn secondary diaphram...its has about a 1/2 tear in it so i think my secondaries were no opening up..also found #65 jets...another problem

355, 10:1 comp, cast hp heads, performer intake & 650 edelbrock carb, balanced and blueprinted, i ran 15.2 as a best with 3.42's and a th350...feel lucky....feel real lucky...

did you degree the cam?

somebody on the drag racing board was telling me that the secondaries did virtually nothing and were only responsible for a few tenths, i dunno how true that is.

I've looked at everything i can think of, it's not running hot, compression showed 180 in every cylinder (+/- 4), idle is good, no hesitation, no stumble, plugs look good and are toward the rich side, good spark....i'm lost as to why it runs so slow, it feels strong, it pulls strong

The reason you ran slow is traction/poor responce off the light. I belive form your ets you should be able to hit 13.00s with slicks and a good driver.

i think that your carb is to big for your engine....i have pretty much the same setup as you. last night i took off my 750 vs, and put on a 650 dp, gained about 40hp, huge difference, and its not even tuned yet.

see if you can borrow a smaller carb from someone, and see if it makes a difference.

when my 750 secondaries had a bad diaphram, i only gained around 3 tenths back....that would mean a 13.9 for you and still not as good as your engine should be doing.
