Hey i got a free (that's right kids, FREE!!) 86 iroc from a classmate with a messed up engine and no trans. body is pretty good and rust free some damage to the front pass fender and front bumper cover from the kid trying to see how fast he could go through a toll booth. the engine he said he thinks he flattened a lobe on the cam or something (don't ask me how). its a carb'ed 305 and i want a 350. so here's what i need as of now...

-Pass. side front fender

-Front bumper cover

-Tranny (700r4 maybe??)

-Maybe cheap 350 shortblock?? or (somewhat) complete

define cheap 350. do you want a bone stock used one or a rebuilt? cuz i will have a rebuilt here hopefully in 3-4 months. and i live in winthrop harbor which is 20 minutes tops from gurnee. and i know gurnee really well, the old man used to be a cop there. or i can give you the block and everything with it and you can rebuild it yourself for 100 bucks. its .040 over though.

Vic- how much do you want for the tranny and where are you located?

spartyon- i would probably prefer to have the engine rebuilt. i don't know if i could do it or not. but how much would you take for it if you rebuild it? and is there any way to have it done earlier than 3-4 months?

well i was thinking of asking around 600 hundred for my rebuilt motor when done. if i had that money i could finish it sooner.

i live about 2 hours southwest of waconda (sp), my girlfriend has relatives there (and surrounding suburbs) so its possible to meet half way

price: after I get the trans out, I'll check it over, I don't want to ask to much for it

how soon do you need it?

Spartyon- so if i could give you about $600 you could do the engine sooner? about how long do you think it should take and when would you imagine it would be done?

Vic- i'll be looking to buy a trans sometime probably within the next month or so. im not looking to spend a lot of $$ so do you have a guess on how much you want for it?

i sent you a pm. here are the things i can do with the engine that i forgot to pm you about. i have the block, crank, pistons, rings, heads, oil pan( a little beat up but i can get a new one cheap), stock gm 86 carb intake minus the sensors and stuff that you can put on. i have a noncc qjet 4bbl, stock rockers.

the thing(S) i dont have are a distributor, water pump, pulleys(although i have a few that i can give you but they may not be the right ones), alternator, starter, wires.

I have forged Trw 9.7:1 .030 over pistons, PM me if you're interested. I live in Chicago.

i can set u up with a perfectly good 350 and have it installed for u for about 600 bux and i live in zion. could have it done as early as next week. also i could get u a 700 r-4 tranny or a t-5. i am unaware of the price for tranny but i know it is in excellent working condition. if ur interested PM me.
