Traction! What is that?

Well people I have serious issues here now. I drove the car for the first time today. I am excited and worried all at the same time.
I give it the gas(about a quarter peddal) and nothing but tire spin.
After It finally gets going and I idle to about 45 or 50 I mash on it and nothing but tire spin. Im thinkin sand bags or something for help. I've got money for suspension mods just need some help buyin the right stuff.
The car is d*mn scary to drive. It scream's like no other. I love this car!

I wish I had that problem....maybe different tires would help.

Mostly I'm wondering where you get gas for a 13.77:1 compression ratio?

Yes phillips 66. I bought it when I was at work with a gas can. I love the smell of this stuff. It makes me crazy. For example: I went out and bought another third gen this afternoon. 89 RS T-tops. I had my eye one it for a couple days. Thought I needed another daily driver. I can always throw the Goodwrench crate motor from the wagon in. I am having a GREAT weekend. Just thought i'd share the good news with everyone.

The RS needs some minor work but I have most of the parts layin around. So it shouldn't be a big deal.

One more F-body has a good home!

If you'r not running sticky tires its going to do that. i have the same problem on the street. get some M/T et streets and you wont have that problem, but you will have to do a burnout first to heat them up or they will spin to.

From the sounds of it, it seems like u have have stock suspension? Well the first place to start is adj. Lower control arms, adj. panhard bar, and adj. torque arm. These will deffinatlly make u hook up. then get some better rubber on there. Also u better get some Sub-frame connectors on there or u'll twist ur chassis. Nice soundin motor though, I'm fightin the same proble u are...no matter the speed, put it to the floor and tire spin Woohoo. But tire spin sux

Thank you for the responses. I am still runnin' completely stock suspension. The car was originally a V6. That is most of it's problem.
I want to buy the right stuff the first time. 355SS gave me some pointers on Sunday but i'm blind as a bat(can't weld) so I am shopping for the best options.
As for tires, i'm runnin' the same junk the wheels came with(dunlop garbage performance radials). I will have new rubber soon. This set is just to keep the car off the garage floor.

Kevin here are the links I was telling you about for making your own bars. Get the rear control arm relocation brackets I gave you plans for on your car. Don't you still have the open diff in your car if so you need better tires and a posi. Don't forget the stb, subframes and the torque arm. When you pick out your parts give me a call if you want to talk about them.
