Not Cool

I nearly had a heartattack today. I was getting ready to put my t-top and the bag and SMASH! My t-top shattered all over the floor. It was crazy. Luckily I was able to replace it and get a used one from this place in MO. I had to get it from there because I have C&C t-tops. I am always going to becareful from now on.

how to tell

well one way is if you have a separate key to lock and unlock them. another way is if the locks are in the middle bar of the t-tops- they are usually smaller than the stock locks. the C &C tops also say C&C in the glass but it can be hard to find sometimes. i hope this helps

I am assuming these t-tops are from a custom installer. I recently picked up a '86 TA with these tops. Was this a very common thing? jkris

The t-tops themselves i think were made as an aftermarket accessory. Let's say you got a hardtop and you wanted t-tops instead. Well you would have to go to a body shop or custom shop to have this done. I think it was a popular option to add on in the 80's and 90's for anyone who really wanted t-tops really bad. It was a kit and like i said someone at a shop would have to do it. The only thing though is getting parts for these. But the good thing is that you can still get them at sunroofdoctor.com. I had made a post in the aftermarket vendor board. It should be there, but it might take a while to find it. I have a link so check it out if you need patrs or information.
