Upholstery Work Needed
I'm located in Palatine, IL and need my Convertable top, door panels, and headliner repaired. I have tried some places locally in the area like Kens Kustom Korner (Schaumburg), Auto Upholstery (Palatine). They price here is very high. I could have had all the work done for $1260 in Georgia, but I had too hurry up and move to thake the job in this area. Now Kens want $1250 just for the top using the same material and design. Now Auto Upholstery wants $1500 just for the top. I thinking about hooking my car up to the trailer and pulling it up to Rockford, IL, since the cost of living is a lot cheaper than this area. Anyone have a suggestion on a place that will not have such a outragious price?
Thanks

I'm in MN and had an upholstery shop in town that now appears to be gone. I also have a Firebird Convertible that needs a top...no headliner that I am aware of but online, you can pick up a Stayfast top for $400 and install I hear SHOULD be around $200 labor. The estimate in summer was about $650 here and $550 in the winter...save a hundred bucks during slow months... Not bad and I should have done it of course... Anyway, I think I'll upgrade my seats with 4th gen ones, or 1990s ones. Try eBay for door panels, they are frequently offered.
